Principal Electronically Scanned Array (ESA) Antenna Design Engineer
This position requires design experience in electronically scanned array and antenna design, electromagnetic analysis, near field and far field antenna metrology, antenna/vehicular siting/co-site analysis and passive distributed circuit device design for the L Band through millimeter wave frequencies in the support of avionics radio system design.
The applicant must be fluid in wide-band electronically scanned array (ESA) system and aperture design and test. Knowledge in ESA transmit/receive module, beam forming networks and digital beam formers is highly desirable. In addition, the applicant must have a broad knowledge of various radiating element types (Vivaldi variants, current sheet array variants, helical, dipole, etc), reflector and associated feed types (parabolic, Cassegrain, etc.), and passive microwave circuit technology (microstrip, stripline, waveguide, etc.).
A working knowledge of contemporary Electromagnetic (EM) simulation tools such as the Finite Element (FEM), Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD), Finite Integral Technique (FIT), Method of Moments (MoM), and Geometric Theory of Diffraction (GTD) is required. Working knowledge of EM/circuit simulation tools such as Microwave Studio CST, Ansys/Ansoft HFSS and Designer, FEKO, Agilent Momentum or similar computational electromagnetic simulation tools is required. A working knowledge of contemporary microwave circuit simulation tools, such as the Agilent ADS or Microwave Studio tool suites and MATLAB and Simulink is also required.
The applicant should have experience in pursuit and execution of external research contracts with agencies such as AFRL, CERDEC, DARPA, ONR, etc. The applicant should have strong project leadership and project management skills with the ability to balance cost, schedule, and performance goals. Skill sets include technical marketing with an emphasis on presentation, proposal and schedule generation. In addition, the applicant should possess strong interpersonal skills, be able to lead and work within a cross-domain team, be adept at interfacing with internal and external customers along with providing technical mentoring to less experienced engineers.
A PhD with electromagnetic/ESA technology emphasis is highly desired.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in applicable engineering or science field, and ten years of related experience, or, in the absence of a bachelor's degree,
sixteen years of related experience.
Applicant must be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. US Citizenship is required.
