PR Agency Jobs
PR agency jobs are marketing consultant jobs. They help their respective clients—whether a manufacturer or a service-oriented company—with its PR tools, from advertising or marketing strategy to concept evaluation to execution. The PR agency takes a client's strategy and turns it into a specific concept for advertisements—such as a series of ads conveying why one should opt for a particular product manufactured by the said company. Execution is where a PR agency job holder turns the concept into reality with the production of actual ads or other promotional material like mailers, newspaper ads, creating offers etc. PR agency professionals place the ads—buying space in newspapers, on television, or in subway stations. There are many job profiles within the PR agency, out of which one can choose according to his or her expertise or experience.
Most PR agencies prefer candidates with bachelor's degrees and a liberal arts background—preferably in advertising, journalism, public relations, literature, sociology, philosophy, or psychology. Skills in interactive technology—such as HTML—may also make for a more marketable candidate for any PR agency.
