PR Specialist Jobs
PR specialist jobs require PR professionals to handle media, community, consumer, and business relations. Those in PR specialist jobs work with all types of media, including television, telecommunications, radio, and print, as well as in diverse industries. PR specialist job openings are open to candidates with bachelor's or master's degrees in public relations, journalism, advertising, media, and/or communications. PR specialist job openings also require applicants with demonstrated communication skills as well as relevant experience. Some companies seek PR specialists accredited by the Universal Accreditation Board or the International Association of Business Communicators.
According to the US Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics, there were about 243,000 individuals working in PR specialist jobs in the United States in 2006. The bureau also estimates an 18% increase in PR specialist job openings from 2006 to 2016, reflecting a growth rate faster than the average growth rate for all occupations. The median salary for PR specialist jobs in 2006 was reported as $47,350.
