Retail PR officer uses all forms of media and communication to build, maintain, and manage the reputation of organizations ranging from retail centers to supermarkets and malls. The primary task of the retail PR officer is to build on the reputation of the main products marketed by the retailer or the quality and low costs of its products. Retail PR aims to manage reputation in order to gain understanding and support, and influence opinion and behavior. Most supermarkets and departmental stores enable good offers in the pricing of their products, and it is the retail PR officer who has to garner enough PR publicity to garner sales and enhance the store reputation. Retail PR officers also supervise the working of the stores and provide suggestions to the management to enhance the sales impact. They also design hoardings and billboards and rely on outdoor advertising for the purpose of promotion.
The job candidate should be a graduate in PR, media or advertising and should have ample experience and knowledge of the retail market. The candidate should have at least 3-4 years of experience in the retail sector or the PR sector.
