Since 1974, Denver faculty and alumni have demonstrated enduring leadership. Spread throughout the country in both academic and private institutions, they maintain a standard of excellence and uphold our philosophy. We train leaders in Emergency Medicine. Leadership is a blend of clinical, academic and administrative excellence. Once developed, leadership skills reach beyond any practice setting, empowering one to advance the institution of Emergency Medicine. This is the essence of our educational philosophy. Cultivation of this standard starts with residency training. Absolute solidification of clinical excellence occurs through our affiliated format where no clinical experience is left unexplored. Based at Denver Health, the only academic Level-1 trauma center and county hospital in Denver, residents also rotate at the University of Colorado Hospital, an academic tertiary care center, and the regional burn center. Additional time is spent at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital, a leading private institution, and The Children's Hospital of Denver, a pediatric Level-1 trauma and tertiary care center. These institutions seamlessly come together to create the optimal experience for a resident's clinical education.
