Director of Corporate Communications & Public Relations','2201860','!*!POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director of Corporate Communications and Public Relations is responsible for coordinating internal and external communication and overseeing the development and implementation of communication strategies, tactics and materials that support CMC’s business goals. S/he will manage the delivery of key messages across a variety of platforms to target audiences including national, local and trade media, consumers, employees, community organizations, medical providers and policy makers. S/he will work closely with senior leadership, Marketing, Human Resources and others as needed to ensure that communications activities are credible, integrated, consistent, and supportive of the Company’s brand identity and reputation.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops, directs and evaluates internal and external communications for CMC.
Develops and oversees the implementation of a media relations/public relations strategy and outreach including written materials, announcements, press releases and other related communications documents.
Acts as spokesperson for **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. as liaison to the media. Operates as Public Information Officer for Emergency/Disaster training and events. Manages all media contacts.
Creates compelling content to share company messages and build reputation.
Monitors hospital activity to develop opportunities for earned media.
Submit and work with Marketing to generation online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action. Collaborate with Marketing to decide who, where, and when to disseminate.
Coordinates with Marketing webpage maintenance—ensuring that new and consistent information (article links, stories, and events) is posted regularly
Drives a strong corporate brand, ensuring alignment across all business units. Increases brand awareness in conjunction with Marketing through press, internet, social media, trade journals and paid media channels.
Designs and executes strategic internal communication plans to enhance employee engagement and promote understanding of mission, vision, values and key initiatives.
Manages the creation and publication of in-house communications such as emails, intranet, web and digital content, and employee events such as town halls.
Develops and manages compelling written content for internal and external communications including executive speeches, business presentations, annual reports, newsletters, articles, talking points, videos, etc. for multiple channels including the intranet, employee meetings, videos, emails, etc.
Implements federal and state legislative and regulatory outreach, grassroots activities, and policy analysis. Leads the development and execution of strategic advocacy plans, develops government relations performance metrics and dashboards, and serves as an advisor to CMC leadership on government relations and public policy matters.
Defines key metrics for measuring the success of corporate communications programs.
Designs and implements a thought leadership strategy to build the corporate reputation and raise the visibility of the senior leadership team through various media.
Leads consistent communication between Marketing, Development and business units to ensure communications and business objectives are aligned.
Manages/optimizes the value of external relevant vendor relationships.
Employs, shares and learns best practices by interacting with a broad network of sophisticated communications and business professionals.
Identifies and nurtures key strategic partnerships to advance organizational goals, growth, and initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree required with a focus on communications, journalism, or related field. MBA, MHA or advanced degree preferred.
A minimum of 7 years of experience in communications roles, of increasing levels of responsibility
Minimum 3 years experience managing and executing across several communications media
Experience as an institutional spokesperson, including crisis communications preferred
Working knowledge of all facets of on-line communications and social media
Familiarity with healthcare environment.
