JOB SUMMARY: 30 hours per week with full time benefits!

Research, develop and implement grant writing projects. The Grant Writing & Development Specialist prepares, writes and submits grant proposals and manages grants for general operating, and workforce development and educational programs. Assist Development office with all administrative duties. Maintain professional and courteous attitude at all times, be flexible and assume new job responsibilities as needed. Commit to improvement and team building.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop, manage and maintain a grants management plan to increase the number and level of funding from philanthropic organizations and corporations – may include working with outside vendors

Track proposal/report deadlines and maintain department calendar for all foundations/organizations that provide grant revenue, for all Goodwill programs (e.g. SEETTS, Waverly, STEP).

Works with the Marketing Department to ensure updates to donor database and all paper and electronic funder files are current and accurate

Prepare and sends correspondence, proposals, reports and other communications in a timely and accurate manner

Prepare reports on survey results and statistical reports on contributions received

Research current and prospective funding sources

Prepare background briefs for staff prior to funder meetings

Maintain and update key fundraising and organization materials

Maintain files, correspondence, grants for corporate donors, government entities and foundations

Attend meetings and take minutes

Assist with other administrative tasks

Perform and assume new job responsibilities as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Non-profit Management or related field required

Three years grant writing experience required

Effective communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to convey information effectively as appropriate for the audience

Able to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality

Demonstrate strong administrative skills; and planning and organizational skills

Ability to use computer with competency in word processing, spreadsheet applications and databases

Ability to complete tasks despite numerous interruptions

Ability to work with little direct supervision

Ability to manipulate numbers

Ability to type

Ability to gather and analyze marketing data and produce reports based on data
