Description SUMMARY: The Corporate Director of Communications researches, develops, implements and tracks results of Communication Plans for both internal and external LGH customers, including patients, employees, physicians, volunteers, board members, partners, suppliers, consumers, community groups, award\/rating\/recognition organizations, governmental\/legislative\/regulatory constituencies, etc. Directs employer outreach initiatives by organizing and coordinating sales efforts of various health system programs and services, including health screenings. Performs other related duties as assigned, including oversight of LGMC outsourcing of Gift Shop management. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Community Relations Department (Communications Coordinator\/Webmaster, Communications Specialist (2), Graphic Designer, Assistant Communication Specialist and Administrative Assistant), Gift Shop\/Auxiliary ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: \u2022 Staff supervision, leadership and inspiration \u2022 Market, consumer research \u2022 Corporate and Affiliate communications with key customers \u2022 Corporate and Affiliate identification and branding \u2022 Communication Plans \u2022 Tracking results, ROI of communication plans \u2022 Special Events \u2022 News media relations \u2022 Marketing, advertising \u2022 Community, public relations \u2022 Direct efforts in graphic design and video editing, photography and videography, promotional materials, publications and printing, community events, donations and online promotions, social media and communications. \u2022 Provide professional, operational and fiscal oversight of departments, develop and maintain relevant standards and professional staff, while setting and directing the efficient operations and production in reaching departmental goals. \u2022 Serve as key spokesperson for internal and external communications pertaining to all hospitals within the health system, as well as communication about and between all clinical affiliates. Support ongoing executive messaging for senior leaders and serve as counsel to departments working on communications to educate and engage patients, employees or other key customers. \u2022 Serve on highly visible hospital and medical committees. Minimum Requirements PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS: Strong organizational skills and ability to inspire and motivate others, both direct reports and peers. Analytical and problem solving ability. Ability to assimilate information, manage large quantities of diverse information and diagnose systemic issues, working well under deadlines and managing several projects simultaneously. Ability to develop and implement communication plans in a competitive health care environment. Ability to work effectively with physicians, clinicians, board members, health care executives, business and industry representatives and staff. Ability to achieve results in a large and complex organization, and ability to work as a team member. EDUCATION\/TRAINING\/EXPERIENCE: \u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree in communications, marketing, PR or related field required. Master\u2019s degree preferred. \u2022 Minimum of seven years communications experience required. \u2022 At least five years of supervisory experience required. \u2022 Experience with budgeting required. \u2022 Health care experience required. \u2022 Participation in community, industry and professional associations to represent LGH interests. \u2022 Participation in professional societies (e.g. SHSMD), keeping abreast of developments in the health care industry and otherwise maintain professional growth.
