**SURGICAL INNOVATIONS** sets the standard for Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) by creating innovative surgical products and services that focus on obesity and diseases and conditions of the gastrointestinal tract, lung, abdominal wall, pelvic region, and the head and neck.
The Hernia Area Business Manager is responsible for supervising sales representatives within their assigned area with a “Dotted-Line” leadership relationship with the local Regional Managers. The primary goal is to achieve sales objectives for an Area or Multiple Areas, while representing Medtronic in accordance with Company policies and AdvaMed guidelines. Hernia Area Business Managers develop new Sales Representatives in Hernia, work with Sales Representatives in their assigned territories on a regular basis, and review individual Sales Representatives' performance. The Hernia Area Business Manager is expected to demonstrate high performance practices and key Area Manager competencies as they meet and exceed objectives for this role.
Develop, manage and communicate an Area strategic targeting plan to over-achieve revenue and growth goals. Alignment with the Senior Sales Director, AST Region Managers and Strategic Account partners to coordinate and execute on opportunities within the Area.
Work with Senior Sales Director and Region Managers at the Area level to maximize contract opportunities and negotiations with customer base. This includes training field personnel on contract details and ways to leverage these agreements to maximize customer value and Medtronic hernia market share.
Onboarding and training of Hernia Specialists in the following areas; Product knowledge, procedural understanding and territory management. Duties include re-training and development of managers, Super-Combined Representatives and Hernia Specialists.
Key liaison between the field and hernia marketing to drive critical business objectives, execute on new product launches and awareness of competitive offerings and strategy. Work closely with sales training to increase field clinical acumen and procedural knowledge.
Develop and maintain a key opinion leader (KOL) network throughout the Area for references and training events to increase sales representative effectiveness and patient outcomes.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field (Technical/ Analytical Fields are a Plus)
Minimum 5 years of sales experience in Medical Device or other regulated healthcare industry
Extensive experienced working with Hernia Surgeons is preferred
Demonstrated ability to establish strong internal and external customer relationships
Successful completion of a Medtronic leadership development program, Emerging Leader Development, and successful completion of a Regional Manager training program.
Experience in developing new innovative markets, paradigm shifting, and/or consultative selling
Experience selling value and differentiation to customers
Solid job skills in business planning/consulting with multiple cross-functional contacts
Extensive Hernia Surgery clinical knowledge is preferred.
Business Acumen, Knowledge COV performance in AST markets, ability to analyze regional sales potential, leading and coaching abilities, Drive for Results, Ethics Values, Evidence-based Medicine, Functional Technical Skills, Integrity Trust, Interpersonal Savvy, Listening, Negotiating, Priority Setting, Problem Solving.
