The Siemens Government Technologies Internship Program enables college students to explore stimulating career possibilities in the government contracting environment. As an intern of Siemens Government Technologies, you will be given individual and group assignments that are designed to provide you with experience in a corporate environment and develop your business acumen.
We are seeking candidates for a summer internship as a Communications & Branding Specialist who is detail-oriented, able to work on multiple projects simultaneously under frequent deadlines, and possess strong writing, editing, social and digital communications skills. The internship will play a very active role within Siemens Government Technologies' (SGT's) communications team. The ideal candidate will be a strong writer, able to synthesize complex material and distill into simplistic, key component messages. The intern will support a variety of projects, which will include internal and external communications, inclusive of event management and tradeshow support, employee newsletter article contributions, intranet site content, press release development, marketing campaigns and associated messaging and advertising.

This specialist will:
Contribute to a range of internal and external communications and projects including remarks, presentations, information management, data collection, and web content.
Assist with the development and implementation of communications plans and branding strategies within SGT lines of business and across the enterprise.
Produce content for internal and external communications channels, including digital, social media, print and video.
Promote stories to key audiences and interact with the corporate media team in support of business activities.
Seek and use innovative, out-of-the-box techniques for internal and external communications, branding and co-marketing. Strategic thinking, creativity, problem solving and knowledge of communications best practices are essential.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Work daily with various members of the Communications team including the Executive Leadership Team.
o Support Siemens Corporate Communications operations including event coordination, project management, and internal and external engagements.
o Contribute to strategic communications plans, digital initiatives, and branding strategies that support enterprise and/or line of business goals.
• Currently pursuing college degree in communications, public relations, marketing, business, political science or related degree
• Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher preferred
• Rising Junior or above
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others on projects and assignments to achieve optimal results.
• Ability to quickly learn the SGT business and understand the value proposition to SGT.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.
• Creativity in problem solving and alternative solutions.
• Proven ability to present information in both 1 on 1 and large group settings.
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and schedules
• This position will be based in Reston, VA or Arlington, VA
