Position Summary

In this key role for our leadership team, this person will work directly with the office of transformation to develop highly targeted communication strategies and deliverables. Principle Accountabilities & Deliverables

Maniacal focus on developing internal and external measurable communication strategies that drive the corporate strategy

Develop communication strategies that drives positive impact on business performance

Anticipate future opportunities that are aligned to the corporate strategy and turn them into breakthrough communications plans that lead to identifiable business results

Ensure all constituents (customers, investors, and regulators) view the organization favorably

Develop communication strategies that create internal alignment around corporate culture and business strategy

Develop measurable frameworks for the technologically delivery of new generation digital communication strategies that seamlessly imbue UTI core values and messaging into the ether (i.e. Integrate communication efforts under a single platform, Streamline the flow of information, make communications more engaging and relevant to target audiences, reach the right audience with the right content at the right time, move to mobile-first workplace communication)

Develops impactful proactive government affairs strategies aligned to the corporate strategy that advance UTI’s mission and goals with local, regional, state and federal elected officials

Develop a measurable assailing strategy for reputation management which is grounded in UTI’s product performance – student employment and career outcomes

Establish/maintain a high performance team of professional, motivated and engaged staff utilizing effective training, performance management and career-development activities while leading them to achieve established business results and performance metrics

Recognizes and rewards employee contributions and achievements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Education / Experience

Bachelor’s degree required with education in Marketing or Corporate Communications, English or writing specialty preferred

15 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, investor relations with a combination of this experience highly preferred

10 years in navigating, negotiating, and drafting communications for C-Suite teams, Board of Directors, Investor Relations, Internal Communications, etc.

8 years leading an effort in developing and deploying communication strategy for a large and/or scaling company with a minimum of 5 years doing so for a publicly traded company with a national footprint

3 years working with investors and shareholders by deploying highly effective public relations with a track record of building a world class reputation and industry leader

Experience leading a cross-functional team and performing project management across the organization

Proven history of managing decisions through metrics

Skills

Highly developed skills and proven ability to develop, drive and evolve metrics that drive greater business results

Proven history of translating communication strategies beyond engagement into measurable results

Strong technical capability to integrate digital strategies into a foundation that allows for short and long term growth

Knowledge and proven ability to define a government affairs strategy. Strong foundation knowledge of for-profit education and existing connections within local, regional, state and federal municipalities are highly desired

Prior experience working directly with C-Suite team to craft communication reflecting the appropriate voice and UTI values

Strong written communication skills that go beyond drafting and editing into storytelling and delivering on an overall strategy to elevate perception and increase engagement

Strong ability to work independently while collaborating across internal and external partnerships

Demonstrated capability to tie reputation management to clear results

Abilities

Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 5 pounds or less 5% of the workday

Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 5% or less of the workday

Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday

Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

Must be able to use a keyboard and do manual tasks for prolonged periods throughout the workday.

Will require about 20% of overnight travel.

Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled environment.
