Vans North America PR MANAGER: Become the Newest Member of the Vans Family
Be a part of Vans’ legacy and help us tell the story of our brand to media and key opinion leaders across North America. As the North America PR Manager, you will utilize public relations and digital skills to promote and elevate Vans brand platforms, events and products to select media and key opinion leaders in the region. As a key function within the communications ecosystem, you will partner with the NORA Brand Communications, Product and Action Sports leaders and the Event Experience team to amplify storytelling in the region. The NORA PR Manager will partner closely with the Global Brand Communications team on key project management so that Vans’ public relations moments are executed consistently across NORA.
How You Will Make a Difference:
Work with the NORA Brand Communications team to create public relations moments that work in sync with paid and owned to tell a holistic story across the consumer journey. Adapt global public relations strategy for key NORA brand platforms and events in order to amplify the experience beyond its primary location. Highlight the work of NORA PR efforts through monitoring and reporting of earned editorial for key projects seasonally. Maintain Vans North America media, key opinion leader and celebrity contact database. Execute global seeding strategy in region at key brand milestones. Lead PR execution for major brand platforms and experiences to tell the Vans story to a broader audience. Events include Vans Family, Vans Custom Culture, Vans US Open of Surfing and Vans Triple Crown of Surfing, Board Drives, Duct Tape Festival/Invitational. Amplify NORA specific product collections and styles. Create awareness of Vans culture platforms House of Vans, Vans Family, and best in class Vans retail stores in North America.
Skills for Success:
Years of Related Professional Experience: 5-7 years experience
Educational/ Position Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications/Journalism or related field and a minimum of 7 years general management experience in the marketing/public relations field or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Experience working in the action sports and fashion industry.
Agency experience and/or 2-3 years experience managing an external PR agency
Special Physical and/or Mental Requirements:
Travel by air and overnight, as required 35% amount of time.
Lifting and/or bending 25 pounds amount of weight.
