Marketing & Communications (M&C) helps departments and offices across HBS plan, execute, and manage a wide range of marketing and communications projects - from tactical communications to large-scale integrated marketing programs. M&C brings strategic thinking, a collaborative approach, and an unparalleled understanding of the HBS brand to every project. The result: communications that inform and engage.

Reporting to the Managing Director in M&C:

Works with client contacts within HBS departments to devise and implement integrated strategies for marketing HBS programs, services, and initiatives to many and varied constituents.

Manages projects, from planning and scheduling through implementation.

Serves as a liaison with IT Web Services to manage and monitor web development projects.

Identifies and manages external service providers and freelance creative talent when appropriate.

Helps to manage the implementation of the HBS marketing plan, particularly in relation to identifying and executing strategies to position and promote the platforms identified in the plan: social enterprise, healthcare, entrepreneurship, and business/environment.

Develops, writes, and edits key marketing messages and supportive text for web, print, and multimedia.

Note: this is a 6 month part-time benefits-eligible appointment with flexibility in schedule and time-status.

Candidates with fewer years of applicable experience will be considered at a Grade 56.

Salary Grade: 057

Union: 00 - Non Union, Exempt or Temporary

BA/BS required. 6 years experience

working in a professional marketing department or marketing services company.

Understanding of academic institutions/environments a plus

Emphasis on communication is highly desired.

Outstanding written communication and interpersonal skills.

Firm understanding of graphic design, for Web and print.

Ability to manage creative and technical resources.

Ability to provide superior client service at all levels of the organization, with diplomacy, tact, and confidence

Intuitive and analytical approach to problem solving.

Ability to effectively manage projects and schedules, and at an accelerated pace when necessary.
