Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the Communications Specialist supports the global content marketing strategy and content creation to improve brand awareness and the demand creation process. This position is responsible for public relations, advertising and event communications. In addition, this position is a liaison to Human Resources and serves as the main company conduit for all internal and external communications. The Communications Specialist also supports various projects and initiatives related to global sales needs, seminars, demos, trade shows, corporate events and new product launches.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Advertising and Public Relations Support
Assists with media advertising planning and all aspects of trade publication relations: working with the marketing manager, outside agency and magazine publishers/editors
Integrates media plan with content calendar and writes/creates content as needed, such as emails, articles, promotional materials, etc.
Leads trafficking of monthly ad placements with Art Director and creates custom content with magazine publishers
Works with outside agency to create PR content, which includes **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. employee interviews, customer interviews, news releases, articles and editorial content
Event Marketing Support
Works closely with the Event Manager on the planning and ensuring all communication deliverables are met for all trade shows, conferences and company events
Ensures all event dates are update to date on the website and the content calendar
Integrates event schedule with content calendar and writes/creates content as needed such as invitations, emails, promotional materials, etc.
Prepare press releases and media kits prior to shows
Works with Art Director or outside creative agency to create any digital/print literature and/or promotional materials needed
Internal and External Communications
Responsible for creating and deployment of all internal and external company announcements
Responsible for all marketing e-mail notifications to customers/reps/dealers/service to maintain overall **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. brand consistency
Liaison to Human Resources to assist with writing announcements, recruiting efforts and managing and maintaining the company intranet content to drive employee communications and engagement
Writes and creates quarterly company newsletter (Roots)
Works proactively with other departments to ensure on-time, accurate information
Proofreads all materials with a high degree of accuracy
Ensure consistent company brand standards and trademark compliance
Global sales and culinary support
Leads all marketing efforts needed to support the development and roll-out of sales programs, such as A Taste of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***., Quick Ship, etc.
Leads all marketing efforts needed to support culinary initiatives relating to seminars, demos and training events such as invitations, agendas, tests, surveys, etc
Creates and maintains presentations in PowerPoint for culinary seminars, A Taste of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. demos, training events, etc.
Coordinates recipe submissions and responsible for editing Snapguides and posting on the website
Maintain up to date project tracker. Meet scheduled deadlines for production of all marketing communications materials through effective coordination with agencies, vendors and other outside resources
Participates in other cross-functional projects
Other duties as required
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
The successful candidate must possess a 4-year college degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations/Advertising, Journalism or related field, and have three to five years of experience.
SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:
Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills with a strong attention to detail
Proficient in Microsoft Office is a must, knowledge in social media platforms and marketing software such as Marketing Automation, CMS, Google and Adobe is preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a team player and able to interact with staff at all levels.
Must be able to work under pressure with minimal supervision, meet deadlines, be flexible working on multiple projects and have effective project management skills.
Must take initiative, be a self starter and comfortable introducing new ideas
Experience working with designers and providing creative input on marketing campaigns and materials
