Description: Develop and implement internal and external communications programs, including public relations and employee communications that support short-and long-term business objectives for BI Fremont Inc. (BIFI). This encompasses employee\u2019s communications & channels regionally for BIFI or BI traditional and digital\/social activities, issues preparedness and response activities and local media engagement. The incumbent is also responsible for fully aligning with US headquarters and BI Corporate Headquarters as appropriate. Our competitive compensation and benefit programs reflect Boehringer Ingelheim's high regard for our employees Duties & Responsibilities: Designs, develops and manages the implementation of internal and external communication overall Communication plan including all related programs\/tactics\/materials in close coordination with U.S. BIPI and\/or global Communications colleagues to align business priorities for BIFI\/BI to drive employee engagement and business results. Manages local media relations and serves as an advisor on media issues and oversees media interface and media training for Fremont leadership. Manages PR\/Communications budget\/resources (agency partners) in cooperation with supervisor and relevant internal stakeholders, while tracking progress as they relate to defined objectives and results. Administers internal communications tools that foster continual and innovative communication methods and provide productive outcomes. Responsible for identifying and creating the appropriate channels across BIFI site, including employee-employee communications and employee-leader communications, publication of site newsletters, etc. Advises and recommends appropriate course of action to the President and CEO and members of the Site Leadership Team on communications and public relations matters. Participates as a key member of the local incident management team (IMT) and works in close coordination with the Rapid Response Team\/Ridgefield Communications to prepare or respond to issues. Helps to minimize business interruptions and protects the reputation of the company and its assets by identifying and planning for issues through application of the US issues process. Manage BIFI\u2019s Communication and Advisory Council, a group of eight (8) employees working together to enhance site communication and connectivity. Serve as needed on regional and global communications teams and\/or projects. Requirements: Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution is required. Requires a minimum of seven (7) to ten plus (10 ) years in healthcare\/pharmaceutical Public Relations\/Communications; proven ability to align communications with Company strategy and organizational style More than six (6) years project management experience Experience cultivating and building relationship with the media Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent planning, organizing and implementation skills. Results oriented, cooperative and strategic thinker. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products including advanced Project, Excel, Power Point and Word functions. Excellent project management and priority-setting skills. Must exhibit good judgment. Ability to interface with and advise executives along with the ability to build relationships at all levels, collaborate and influence for results. Level of Proficiency \u2013 Position requires a high level person with superior verbal and written communication skills, who has the ability to communicate both internally and externally at a very high level with success in managing media relationships. Requires the ability to build relationships at all levels, collaborate and influence for results. Attendance \/ Schedule - Attendance requirements are based on BIFI general attendance policies. These physical and mental requirements represent a sampling of the physical \/ mental requirements considered essential to the position.
