Sterling Personnel is currently recruiting for a Development Director on behalf of our client, a non-profit visitor attraction. This position will serve as the liaison between volunteers, Board of Directors, donors, and potential donors while reporting directly to the Executive Director. In this position you will be responsible for identifying funding challenges and increasing the sustainable funding model through accountability for the company.ResponsibilitiesPrepare and execute an annual fundraising plan of action including all annual giving, major giving, and planned giving activitiesCreate and implement an effective donor recognition, stewardship, and communication programIdentify potential major donors through effective research, community outreach, and relationship buildingDevelop and manage a portfolio of individual and corporate major gift prospects and\/or donorsConduct research for all grants and perform applicable writing, submission, and reportingIdentify, research, apply, and report state, federal, private, and public grants that the organization may be eligibleCoordinate public relations and media activitiesIdentify, create, and implement areas of expansion regarding marketing effortsResponsible for current and prospective donor follow up after events including guest data and applicable feedbackExecute and coordinate various committees to work on special projects and eventsDesign event correspondence with the Executive DirectorProvide updates and reports on fundraising activities, including analysis of financial effectiveness and success as tied to fundraising strategies and goals RequirementsUndergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Business, or Marketing preferredA minimum of 5 years of proven development experience at the managerial level in non-profit organizationsExcellent communication skills to include verbal, written, and interpersonal skillsAbility to multi-task and work independently and meet deadlinesPrevious experience in strategic design and implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising programDirect previous experience of major gift solicitation from individuals, corporations, and\/or foundationsAppropriate community relations experience and the ability to create an organizational-wide presenceExceptional organizational and time management skills, and be detail oriented
