Description Outreach Coordinator - The Children's Hospital Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Full-Time - Days General Description: Under minimal supervision, determines and implements community outreach programming; manages grant proposals and outcome measurement of programs; and initiates\/manages community relationships that further patient\/family programming. Essential Function\/Duties: Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position. Full-time, weekdays 8-10 hours, weekends on occasion. Grant funded position for 2 full years from start date, grant extension possible, through The Children\u2019s Hospital VOLUNTEERS charity. Current Kohl\u2019s Cares grant focus areas include Wiggle Out Loud family music festival, elementary school health and wellness programming, teen health and wellness programming using technology, and developing collaborative health and wellness community relationships. Determines, plans and leads outreach programming, including daily in-house and off-site operations, trainings, presentations, health fairs, speeches, hospital tours, lectures and other community events. Determines hiring of contractors to implement program needs; oversees grant program income, expenses and budget. Develops and produces outreach materials and web content for internal and external audiences of The Children\u2019s Hospital at OU Medical Center and its partners. Distinguishes and defines outreach needs through interactions with hospital leadership, community and patients\/families. Articulates and publicizes accomplishments of existing programs, as well as unmet needs, to community. Independently researches grant\/fundraising opportunities to support programming needs with community funding or through community partnerships. Determines new program design, implementation, follow-up, outcome measurement, and program reporting. Evaluates and refines existing program designs\/practices to meet changing demands of funders, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of programs, and to demonstrate outcomes of programming. Submits grants and grant reports within deadlines, develops and stewards donors, and communicates needs\/changes with funders. Initiates and builds community relationships to enhance and expand patient\/family programs and to further outreach efforts. Serves as liaison to community organizations and businesses that support children\u2019s health needs. Serves as chairperson of committees that bring together community organizations. Produces targeted, consistent and meaningful communication to successfully partner on programs for patients\/families. General Responsibilities: Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Excellent verbal and creative writing skills to include excellent interpersonal communication skills. Excellent public speaking skills. Knowledge of basic community outreach, public relations and grant writing. Working knowledge of patient and family programming and needs. Working knowledge of trends and opportunities in health programming. Good computer skills. Minimum Qualifications: Education: Bachelor\u2019s Degree in public health promotion, public relations, journalism, marketing, communications, health education, family development or related field OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: At least two (2) years of related experience. Licensure\/Certifications\/Registrations Required: None.
