Description \u00a0DESCRIPTION & DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES: A post-graduate internship at Weber Shandwick is intended to provide a true learning experience along with the opportunity to observe public relations professionals in a business environment. In general, interns will provide entry-level professional services, under supervision, as appropriate to the day-to-day needs of the office\/account teams. This is an incredible learning opportunity and a chance to work with some major brands across the automotive, healthcare and banking industries. \u2022 Assisting team members with client-related projects \u2022 Various writing and research assignments \u2022 Media relations outreach, including writing pitches and making follow-up contact with editors to secure media coverage \u2022 Supporting digital\/social media activities for accounts \u2022 Building and updating media databases, editorial calendars, speaking and awards matrices \u2022 Compiling and researching press clippings \u2022 Assisting in special projects and providing general account administrative support \u2022 Participating in brainstorming and staff meetings \u2022 Attend training from senior professional personnel in planning and carrying out activities and assignments Qualifications SKILLS REQUIRED \u2022 Strong interest in public relations and integrated digital campaigns and desire to pursue a career in the field \u2022 Excellent oral, written communications, research and presentation skills \u2022 Strong organizational and time-management skills \u2022 Attention to details and deadlines; accuracy and thoroughness are especially important \u2022 Ability to understand and follow complex, detailed instructions \u2022 Ability to work both independently and in a team environment \u2022 Computer experience in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Factiva and other research databases a plus \u2022 Experience and interest in today\u2019s digital\/social media landscape \u2022 Enthusiastic and eager to learn; team-player with an \u201canything is possible\u201d approach \u2022 Professional and able to be flexible in a fast-paced, always changing environment \u2022 Available to work 40 hours per week EXPERIENCE: Ideally, the candidate will have had 2 - 3 previous public relations internships completed in traditional and\/or digital.
