Job Overview: The Assistant Project Manager is responsible and capable of working with all process stakeholders for Marketing, Merchant, Creative and Production teams to deliver digital and print marketing projects. This position requires the accurate and timely planning, tracking, execution, and delivery of expedite marketing projects, ensuring all deadlines are met by the scheduled due dates from inception to completions. In order to be successful, the Assistant Project Manager is required to think critically and act swiftly to execute the appropriate business decision. Strong communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and computer skills are required. Essential Functions: • Deep comprehension of Marketing Project Management including ownership and delivery of creative milestones for digital and print assets. • Directs key process stakeholders by evaluating various business scenarios and recommending the appropriate course of action. • Establish and manage positive relationships with Merchants, Creative, Site Merchandising, Project Management Teams, and other appropriate partners. • Ability to work independently, with little to no supervision, and make sound decisions. • Ability to troubleshoot and negotiate \Win-Win\ solutions. • Ensure all Production Schedule deadlines are met; manage and execute corrective action as necessary. • Test all future creative assets to ensure proper display and linking of projects. • Demonstrate strong time management skills and correct use of resources. Accomplishes a great deal. • Responsible for identifying opportunities to improve project management workflow, maximizing utilization of company resources, and recommending the best course of action to appropriate leaders. • Checking merchandise into relevant Macy's technology and related workflow activities. • Effectively communicate to process stakeholders as needed. • Execute and oversee special projects to completion as assigned. Qualifications: Education/Experience: • Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Arts, Marketing, Communications or Computer Science preferred. • Prior work experiences or related internship in internet, retail, marketing or advertising. • Proficient working knowledge of MAC, PC, and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and database tools is required. Communication Skills: • Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills. Reasoning Ability: • Flexible, ability to multitask and problem solve multiple requests simultaneously. • Aptitude for finding creative solutions to complex problems. • Ability to work independently as well as part of a Team. Physical Demands: • This position may involve stooping, kneeling, climbing, crouching and lifting up to 20 lbs., as well as regular walking, standing, hearing, and talking. • Requires ability to distinguish color, involves close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Other Skills: • Ability to implement and follow documented procedures and guidelines. • Ability to identify problems, their scope and put preventative resolution plans in place. • Ability to understand the overall business, brand and marketing objectives, proactively contributing to its evolution and success. • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills: ability to exhibit diplomacy when handling difficult situations. • Strong organizational and time management skills are required.
