Could This Be For You?
As Hanger's Social Media & Communications Specialist you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of the company\u2019s external-facing strategic social media activities and collaborating on efforts to promote company initiatives and successes externally. This is a newly created role that will be focused primarily on social media, while also providing some support on traditional media relations. Tasks may include but are not limited to: developing and implementing paid and organic social media strategies to reach target audiences; researching, drafting, and editing creative content; and monitoring and reporting on relevant social and traditional media coverage.
 
Reporting to the External Communications Manager, the Social Media & Communications Specialist must be a qualified professional with strong writing, editing, content creation, presentation and relationship-building skills. Critical to the role is the ability to communicate in a voice consistent with Hanger\u2019s values and culture.

Your Impact
 
As the Social Media & Communications Specialist, you will:

Build and execute organic and paid social media strategies through competitive research, platform determination, benchmarking, messaging and audience identification
Research, generate, edit, and publish social media content across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter) to drive engagement, build brand awareness, execute business goals, and create meaningful connections
Continuously optimize company pages to drive follower growth and maximize performance
Moderate, proactively engage, and comment as necessary on all user-generated content in line with the moderation policy for each community, while maintaining a patient and customer-focused mindset
Create and contribute to editorial calendars
Continuously capture and analyze appropriate social data/metrics to glean insights and improve best practices from dedicated platforms
Collaborate with other departments (Marketing, Patient Care Team, etc.) to manage reputation, identify key players and coordinate actions
Monitor and report on traditional and social media coverage for the company, using platforms like Cision and Brandwatch
As a secondary part of the role, assist when needed in conducting media research, media list building and handling special PR projects
When needed, assist in drafting and editing content for items such as press pitches, news releases, and communication materials
Update company\u2019s media libraries as needed

Minimum Qualifications
Requirements for the role include:

Bachelor\u2019s degree in communications or related field
5 years relevant work experience within an agency, large corporate communications environment, or similar to include:
1 year experience developing and implementing paid strategies across social media platforms (both B2C and B2B preferred)
Experience with a publicly-traded healthcare company a plus

Additional Success Factors
The successful candidate will also possess:

Experience managing customer service inquiries and issues on various social media platforms preferred
Excellent writing, proofing and editorial skills. Fluent in AP Style
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time-management skills
Ability to prioritize projects according to enterprise objectives, while exhibiting flexibility in a fast-paced, often pressured environment
Ability to build effective relationships as a trusted communications advisor and to partner with employees at all levels
Capable of understanding perspectives of multiple audiences and able to develop content focused on the specific needs of each audience
Experience with video content creation/editing and graphic design preferred
Experience with social media monitoring software such as Brandwatch preferred
Experience with media list building and monitoring software such as Cision preferred
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Act with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships
