Position Category: Marketing & PR Company/Location (search) : Country (Full Name): : United States Job DescriptionAmazon is looking for a highly-intelligent, high-judgment, self-motivated and creative public relations professional to join the team responsible for telling cross-Amazon stories around seasonal retail moments like Mother's Day, Father's Day, Back to School and more as well as pop culture events like Super Bowl. The ideal candidate will have experience managing proactive media relations including PR plans, pitching media, executing events, tracking coverage and identifying timely opportunities. This individual is full of creative ideas and pitch angles, enjoys wrangling multiple people and projects at the same time with a smile, loves pop culture and keeping up with the latest influencer campaigns. They'll watch YouTube and know who the next YouTube star will be, they read US Weekly and Refinery 29 and they look at an editorial calendar as an opportunity to tell 12 months of compelling stories. They'll obsess over details, display poise and sophistication in rapid-moving situations and become fast friends with a number of internal teams working on events at Amazon as well as with consumer media. Key Responsibilities: Develop and manage strategic public relations programs around seasonal retail shopping and pop culture events Work across Amazon PR, marketing and advertising to tell better together stories with press Work with external vendors on assets and agencies to execute big ideas Develop and leverage relationships with consumer media to land stories Help manage external public relations agencies on strategy and day-to-day matters Lead on executing large-scale media and influencer events Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree 5 years public relations experience 3 years PR experience in consumer Experience working with social media campaigns and influencers Experience executing press tours and large-scale events Network of media contacts and a deep understanding of the news media Excellent written and verbal communication Preferred Qualifications The ability to bring together a large team with competing priorities and lead them toward a common goal Outstanding attention to detail and bias for action Standards so high most people would find them unreasonable Thrives in a collaborative environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done Strong judgment and ability to make decisions in real-time Amazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer – Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation
