Job Description
This position plays a key strategic role in marketing ICM’s products and services and directs the day-to-day marketing and communications activities of ICM and its sister organizations.  The Manager, Marketing & Communications is responsible for providing direction of marketing strategies related to sales, business development, corporate marketing, product development and product management.  The Manager, Marketing & Communications will help lead ICM’s efforts to position itself as a technology leader and to achieve its revenue goals.  Responsible for the planning, development and implementation of all of the Organization’s marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials in the area of marketing, communications and public relations. Directs and participates in the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

Create, implement, and measure the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the ICM’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public. Facilitate internal and external communications; and, all ICM marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, and client acquisition.

Direct the development and execution of global marketing communications initiatives including product launches, sales collateral, tradeshows, campaigns, eblasts, newsletters, social site presence, company website, public relations, internal communication, regulatory communications, and corporate events.

Build and maintain effective relationships with internal departments to create a business driven by a partnership environment.

Ensure articulation of ICM’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout ICM, and assure communication of image and position to all constituencies, both internal and external.  Maintain quality and accuracy of written and verbal communications.

Participate in the development, and independently create, marketing strategic goals and objectives to include corporate product offering, market analysis, and creative ways to interact with the customer.  Understand the industry and articulate the needs of the customer in the development of short-term and long-term strategies.

Act as ICM’s representative with the media and coordinate media interest in the Organization and ensure regular contact with target media and the appropriate response to media requests.

Execute activities related to strategic goals and objectives from a sales and marketing perspective, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.

Ensure that the ICM regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor and report trends.

Work with the Director of Sales to help build and manage the infrastructure of sales, marketing and customer service as needed to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Assist in identifying, developing, and managing new opportunities to contribute toward the accomplishment of ICM goals. Ensure developed products are effectively introduced to the market through research and analysis of market conditions, product pricing, and customer feedback.  Have a working knowledge of products for sale and their benefit statements.

Determine projects which should be completed internally and externally.  Manage relationships with outside vendors as necessary. Strategically outsource work as appropriate.

Make decisions within marketing to minimize costs, while maintaining maximum quality standards for our customers. Oversee the development and management of marketing budgets for ICM.

Collaborate with all departments in customer presentations and calls representing ICM as needed.  Assist company employees with presentations assuring quality representation.

Help ensure that ICM’s philosophy, mission and vision are pertinent and practiced throughout the organization

Oversee all budgetary activities for Marketing and Communications to ensure compliance with stated goals and objectives.

Oversee staff training programs and ensure department skill sets are maintained at the level required by corporate training initiatives. Must be able to assure final documents are free of errors.

Manage Marketing Communications department staffing, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, development, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions.  Lead the development of team goals and measure performance toward achieving goals.

Assist other sister divisions of ICM to develop and execute their marketing strategy.

Actively help maintain and strengthen Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software in order to have access to accurate customer information and working database to assist in marketing efforts.

Actively participate in the day-to-day work of the department as needed, beyond supervision

Job Requirements
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATION:                     
Bachelors’ degree in Marketing, Business, Sales, or a related field required.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:                      
Minimum 5 years’ experience in key sales and marketing positions required. 
Previous management experience preferred.
Experience in strategic planning, coordination and successful execution of marketing plans.
Track record of developing and implementing marketing and sales strategies that have consistently met or exceeded
Experience in influencing product development functions as activities relate to understanding customer needs and
communicating the needs to engineering to determine if a product can be developed that addresses customer’s needs.
Experience in establishing new markets and bringing new products to market.
Previous budget preparation and P&L management experience.
Working ability with Graphic Design software packages.
Strong understanding of the agribusiness industry preferred.           
Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate with people of all levels of the
Proficient in MS Office applications and strong computer skills.
Proficient in CRM or database software.
Proficient in Graphic Design software such as Photo Shop and Illustrator.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Demonstrate an ability and willingness to make decisions.
Demonstrate effective problem solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, individuals and teams, integrate and manage significant change, and effect results
through motivation and influence.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.                                         
Acts with honesty and integrity.

Ability to sit for long periods of time.  Able to view computer screen for lengths at a time.  Must be able to speak and listen clearly.  Fine visual acuity to read for accuracy.  Intermittent offsite customer and trade show travel will be required, approximately 5%.
