Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration or a closely related field and a minimum of four (4) years of related experience. Public speaking experience is required.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will supervise the college’s day-to-day functions of Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, and Creative Services. He or she will work with the Vice President and other senior administrators to update and manage a College-wide marketing and communications plan, and maintain ongoing collaboration with the DSC Foundation to support its work. In addition, this position will guide the selection of appropriate advertising mediums to promote College academic programs and services that support the institution’s mission. The employee will develop, implement and participate in review systems that ensure accuracy and consistency of internal and external marketing materials and communications; work with the Communication Manager and Manager of Creative Services in writing, designing and pre-production strategies of college publications including the biannual Daytona State College Magazine; and work with clients, Communications Manager and Creative Services in the maintenance and development of the Marketing-related portions of the College website and electronic internal/external communications. This position will also assist in defining research data needed to determine expectations of students and prospective students for DSC’s academic programs and other services; develop short and long term plans and budgets for the department; and perform the Public Information Officer duties with consultation of the President, Vice President of Enrollment Management and other appropriate staff as needed. This position will perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The successful candidate must have knowledge of public relations, marketing and communication strategies and techniques.

The applicant must have excellent organizational skills and leadership ability. The successful candidate must be comfortable with technology including the Microsoft Office Suite. The applicant must have a strong knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs. The successful candidate must also be able to function effectively in a team environment and have the ability to grasp concepts quickly.

Salary:

This is a twelve (12) month administrative position with a competitive salary dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience.
