This is a high profile, hands-on role within the DXC Technology Marketing and Communications organization, working directly as part of the Global Corporate Communications team to support DXC’s business areas, services offerings, America’s region, DXC Partner Network, and issues management and crisis communications responses.
Define, manage and execute communications/public relations strategies and programs to reach DXC target audiences with key messages.
Create compelling communications strategies, messages and stories that will resonate with press, influencers and customers aligned to measurable results.
Coordinate and draft communications for issues management from a holistic perspective (clients, employees, external influencers).
Improve the focus, quality and frequency of media coverage.
Collaborate with key internal stakeholders to
develop media strategies, content and tactics to maximize media impact in support of the DXC’s strategic business objectives.
Provide strategic counsel on strategies to raise mindshare among external influencers, leveraging appropriate channels to maximize reach: media, blogs, and other communications platforms.
Demonstrated ability to quickly and concisely write high quality media-relations materials, including news releases, media Q&A’s, media pitch letters, and bylined articles.
Simplify complex concepts into compelling stories and pitches that reflect the differentiated capabilities and client business value delivered by DXC.
Establish and grow media relationships with business, IT services and technology reporters/influencers.
Serve as a subject-matter expert in media relations to coach and counsel designated spokespersons on effective interactions with the media. Partner with key internal stakeholders to prepare spokesperson(s) with Q&A’s, facts or supporting materials to use when delivering external messages.
In addition, guide, collaborate and help manage agencies in support of the Corporate Communications program.
Plan, coordinate and support communication events where appropriate
Bachelor's degree in business, communications or related field preferred.
Typically 7 years of experience in media relations/corporate communications (corporate or agency experience preferred)
Superior written and verbal communications skills; as well as experience working with industry writing style such as grammar, sentence form, and structure.
Social media (blogs, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google ) familiarity and skills required.
Experience working with the computer industry/technology services.
Strong interpersonal skills and ease at influencing and executing in a matrix organization at all levels.
Attention to detail, high-energy and ability to be successful in a dynamic working environment.
Proactive, self-motivated, deadline-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities while producing high-quality results.
Proven experience leading and collaborating with virtual teams toward common goal.
Creativity, accountability, discipline and integrity.
Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills.
Willingness to travel.
