Location and team

DNV KEMA's Sustainable Use group is seeking a Business Analyst to join their growing team in Detroit, Michigan. The Business Analyst will provide business intelligence support to corporate and localized utility energy efficiency programs nationwide. Tasks may include

Data Analytics

Analyze data from multiple energy efficiency programs, including energy savings, incentive calculations, and application processes/statuses

Perform a variety of data quality control checks to ensure validity of data entered into the program tracking systems

Perform database (Access, Oracle, or SQL server) queries and program data analysis as requested

Process Tracking & Improvement Monitor and manage cross-program rules and processes relating to reporting and program performance tracking

Identify opportunities to streamline operations, recommend and implement data controls

Study multiple business functions, gather and evaluate data, develop workflow charts

Dashboard Reporting Gather and prioritize user requirements

Write business requirement documents, create product specifications and technical mock-ups for new business intelligence tools to support decision making and performance tracking

Maintain existing dashboard tools, identify enhancements, track and promote usage across company

Perform and/or manage user acceptance and regression testing

Write user manuals, train users, and provide technical support on reporting tools

Other Provide flexible support to other team members on an as-needed basis

Perform market research

Interact with other business analysts located in various national offices

What we're asking

Bachelor's degree in an analytical discipline, such as engineering, mathematics, statistics, finance, or computer programming

5 years related analytical experience

A proven grasp of database and analysis tools such as Access and Excel, and demonstrated analytical skills to solve business issues. Advanced skills in Excel.

Familiarity with SQL is preferred.

Energy efficiency experience is preferred, and the ability to learn how energy savings are calculated is required

Experience in writing business requirements documents, software design, documentation, and maintenance is preferred

Experience working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deliverables, and remaining flexible

Previous experience in business intelligence is highly preferred

The successful candidate should also have excellent written and oral English communication skills, and is able to translate complex concepts in a clear and concise way

Most importantly, this individual should display a positive, team-oriented attitude to match our friendly work environment

Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Willingness and the ability to undergo a background investigation and drug screening
