The Department of Advancement is recruiting for a Manager of Advancement Annual Communications. The Manager will provide support to The Wittenberg Fund, Alumni Engagement, Leadership Giving, and Stewardship teams and report to the Director of The Wittenberg Fund. The Manager oversees The Wittenberg Fund communications and marketing projects that advance the annual and long-term fundraising, engagement and communication initiatives. This position works with a broad range of internal and external constituents (alumni, donors, vendors) to achieve the Office of Advancement's and University's goals.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
Coordinate Social Media efforts for the Office of Advancement with overall University strategies in mind
Develop content and update web pages for the Office of Advancement
Develop content and design email communications including monthly e-newsletters for alumni and other e-newsletters for families, corporations, campaigns, etc.
Develop printed materials and online content
Assist with planning, coordination and staffing of university events
Assist with printing, ordering promotional items, working with vendors, etc.
Update constituent content on Advancement's database (Salesforce)
Work closely with University Communications as appropriate on joint projects and initiatives
Other duties as assigned
A bachelor's degree in English, communication, marketing or public relations and experience with strategic communications is required. Preference will be given to candidates with marketing and fundraising experience, a master's degree and/or experience in higher education fundraising. Knowledge of CRM (Salesforce) is a plus.
This position requires a high degree of professionalism, confidentiality and an ability to interact with a variety of entities and individuals to significantly increase the visibility of the University. Incumbent must be capable of conveying appropriate messages and representing the University to encourage and facilitate interest in and support of the University's mission. This position has a significant effect on the University's ability to engage current and future donors in a meaningful way and is responsible for enhancing the University's ability to identify, establish, create and maintain strong relationships.
This position requires event participation and staffing with the ability to lift and load event materials and set-up/break-down event displays.
Work venues vary from office, to social events, to presentations, to large and small meetings and interactions with individuals, involving a variety of environments.
Evening/weekend work is often required.
