Reporting to the Manager and site lead for SOF GLSS Communications, this position will be responsible for developing and executing integrated strategic communications efforts to include both internal and external stakeholders, for the Special Operations Forces Global Logistics Support Services program.
The ideal candidate will have strong writing, editing and communication skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines, and work well under pressure. Knowledge of the defense industry business practices and military protocol desirable.
The ideal candidate will develop strong partnerships with business leaders and community partners and possess the desire to learn and support all communication activities required of a site lead in the execution of communication strategies to support business growth in domestic and international markets across multiple disciplines including employee communications, community relations, media relations, marketing communications and executive communications.
* Support in the execution of SOF GLSS strategies for community relations, volunteer activities, social media and web disciplines.
* Newsletter and story generation. portal postings for employee communication dissemination.
* Plan, prepare, write and disseminate information utilizing print and broadcast media, social media; presentations, speeches, scripts, intranet and Internet website.
* Develop creative and business communications content to enhance our portfolio brand, message and market position.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 3 years of professional experience. Community/public relations/employee communications experience. Basic knowledge of graphic and digital formats, intranet and portal design, feature story writing, and social media writing and posting, strong editing skills, PowerPoint chart creation knowledge and experience. Strong team player is able to work individually to complete tasks. Considered experienced, but still a learner.
Two years of professional experience, with a related Master's degree. Experience with military protocol and work in aerospace industry. Experience with InDesign and other Adobe design products as well as Microsoft Excel. Community service/relations experience. Event planning and marketing communication/executive communications a plus.
