Job Description
BROADSTONE is a sponsor and manager of diversified real estate investment offerings for investors and institutions seeking income-oriented alternatives to the public equity markets. Boasting a heritage of commercial and residential real estate expertise and a ten-year track record under the Broadstone masthead, the firm has acquired more than $3 billion of real estate on behalf of investors via direct real estate transactions. 

Broadstone is currently seeking a Director of Marketing (DM) to lead the company's day to day marketing efforts and manage a talented staff of two full-time marketing professionals (Senior Associate and Associate) as a coach and mentor, enabling their success in completion of tactical marketing initiatives across Broadstone's lines of business. The DM will also meaningfully contribute to the firm's strategic marketing initiatives, and be fully responsible for timely and effective execution. The DM will deploy thoughtful, trackable business strategies on behalf of the firm's expert areas and business lines, treating these lines as clients of the marketing organization, with an eye toward analytics, measurability, and ROI. This position reports to the Senior Vice President, Investor Relations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Lead and manage Broadstone's marketing organization, treating expert areas as clients, enabling achievement of these areas’ strategic objectives
Deploy metrics-based approach and reporting throughout Broadstone's marketing strategies and tactics
Manage short and long-term projects with direct reports and key stakeholders, tracking progress in project management tool(s)
Collaborate with leaders of business units to drive specific, tangible results in identifying and marketing to Broadstone's best targets and prospects, helping to generate trackable leads for the firm’s capital raising and property acquisitions initiatives
Create, track, and own an annual marketing budget, reporting quarterly or as otherwise requested
Manage relationships and negotiate contracts and service agreements with 3rd party vendors and partners, as applicable
Lead marketing planning and execution within the written, print, design, and digital realms, including (but not limited to):

Print and digital collateral and presentations
Print and digital advertising
Corporate brand strategy and initiatives
Planning and organization of events and requisite presentations (annual shareholder meetings, advisory board meetings, due diligence days, specific conferences, golf outing, ad hoc events for business units, etc.) 
Press releases, public & media relations
Investor communications 
Original content (whitepapers, memos, infographics, blog content, coauthored content with partners, etc.)
Broadstone's corporate website and SEO
Paid Search (PPC)
Google Analytics
Sales automation tool (Pardot), and connectivity with (SFDC) to create and deploy email and other digital marketing campaigns, create landing pages, capture usable data to drive leads and insights for expert areas and business lines
Social media

Job Requirements

Firm understanding of the creative process, including working with multiple stakeholders and timelines
Knowledge of current marketing strategies, communication trends and general marketing best practices 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate with a variety of audiences
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, consistency, and quality
Strong proofreading skills
Strong organization and project management skills to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines
Strong computer and software knowledge and learning skills (technical competencies listed below)
Familiarity with website best practices and interest in following new digital technologies 
Solid graphic design skills and competencies 
Ability to collaborate with team members across departments, and to manage external partners
Able to effectively and professionally handle changes and follow through on issues in a timely manner
Highly motivated and energetic self-starter; passionate about marketing and communications
Ability to comprehend financial services, real estate and capital markets terms and concepts

Technical Skills/Software Competencies:

Adobe suite (navigability in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator required)
MS Office suite (high proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel required)
Wordpress and overall competency in web design trends, best practices, and theory 
Google Analytics experience and understanding
Inbound marketing / email automation tool experience and understanding
Paid search experience (Google AdWords Bing PPC)


Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, advertising, public relations or a related field
4 years of experience in a marketing leadership role in a corporation or agency
Experience managing a team
Experience contributing with executives on a strategic marketing vision, and driving tangible results
Financial services experience preferred

Environment and Physical Demands:

Professional office environment with routine use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machine; noise level typical of a standard office environment.
Prolonged sitting, computer and telephone use, as well as standing, filing, stooping, bending, reaching and lifting and carrying up to 15 pounds.
