BASIC PURPOSE: Business development role contributing to revenue growth and sustainable income at Trillium. This role involves the sales of alternative fuels and related refueling infrastructure in a B2B sales environment to commercial fleets. Products include both fuel and delivery infrastructure for electric vehicle charging, compressed natural gas and hydrogen refueling. Responsibilities include identifying of high value prospects within the region, prospective customer engagement and the sale of alternative fuel and related delivery infrastructure, meeting regional sales targets, and developing a keen understanding of the regional market and the customer base.
*Meet or exceed regional sales targets. *Build a robust and consistent pipeline of prospects from mid to large fleet customers that will contract to purchase alternative fuel and delivery infrastructure from Trillium. *Successfully target new alternative fuel customers that match the profile for conversion to alternative fuels. *Participate in the development and implementation of sales strategies in order to meet or exceed annual sales goals. *Gather market insight and competitive intelligence to become Trillium's regional market expert. *Develop a knowledge database of the alternative fuels' within the assigned region, including state incentives, that will positively impact the prospective customers buying decision. *Translate knowledge into effective sales tactics and strategic insight to share with the Business Development team. *Gain and be able to message the company's functional capabilities in a variety of situations, including: industry trade shows, client events or in the field selling.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
*Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Engineering or Finance discipline preferred
*3+ years of formal sales experience *3+ Experience with direct business to business (B2B) sales experience. Sales experience with total contract values in excess of $250,000 per transaction is a plus. *Experience with performance based contracting, renewable energy assets and engineering is a plus. *3+ Experience with asset-based financial structuring and metrics with emphasis in sales and project development is a plus. *Strong track record in negotiating and closing. Examples will be requested and could be verified.
