Job Description Head, Omnichannel Medical Communications (Senior Director)
The Head of Omnichannel Medical Communications will be responsible to establish, build and lead the Omnichannel Communications and Engagement function and framework under the newly formed Global Medical Communications team within Regeneron Medical Affairs. This unique position is of high relevance to Regeneron and will be essential in transforming the Medical Affairs organization to be stakeholder centric, drive targeted education and data-driven intervention to improve clinical care and patient outcomes.
He/she will report to the Head of Global Medical Communications. He/she will develop the scope, structure & operations and identify the talent to be on the forefront of the biotech industry in building an exemplary Medical Affairs Omnichannel Communications team, to drive optimal stakeholder engagement and experience by leading the orchestration and alignment of omnichannel touchpoints globally and across the journey of various stakeholders, such as patients, payers and health care professionals.
He/ she will direct our Multichannel med comms team to further increase the chances of audience engagement by unifying communications across channels to deliver a seamless two-way engagement between Medical Affairs and our key stakeholders.
The Head of Omnichannel Communications will work in close collaboration with the Medical Affairs Leadership Team (MALT) and be a key representative of Medical Affairs to a range of audiences, including executive leadership, commercial, corporate communications and development partners across the therapeutic areas. This role will be critical in defining and maintaining an optimal professional relationship with Medical Communications leadership of alliance partners.
Establish and implement a talent & technology ecosystem that is built for delivering an omnichannel experience
Responsible for designing consistently engaging and educational experiences for both in-person and virtual user journeys
Drive an understanding of the journey of various external stakeholders such as patient, HCP or payer and of the motivations and behaviors at each touchpoint to allow us to segment stakeholders & plan and connect touchpoints so that our communications are most impactful and drive improvement of clinical are and patient outcomes
Create understanding of the needs and preferences of each stakeholder segment so that we can develop a curated channel mix of digital, traditional or hybrid interactions
Be an internal champion for omnichannel engagement
Lead the execution of omnichannel data and analytics strategy; work with IT to develop advanced tracking methods and predictive algorithms by building out integrated technology between a CRM system, content management system and advanced analytics to track and measure engagement at each step of the journey, to develop predictive algorithms and determine the optimal omnichannel mix
Identify from the onset key metrics to evaluate success and build in the collection of these analytics to any digital asset; then improve upon and enhance them based on accurate feedback and impact.
Ensure that Medical Directors and Scientific Communication Directors across the Medical Affairs organization are equipped with the proper training and resources to successfully launch digital projects that seamlessly fit into the omnichannel ecosystem
Develop best-in-class playbooks, project-specific checklists, and consistent resources to share with agencies on organizational and functional requirements in close collaboration with IT
Enable field teams to use a mix of channels to seamlessly deliver what HCPs want, where they want it and when they want it.
Work cross-functionally to ensure scientific rigor, credibility, and consistent quality in our communications whilst ensuring compliance with both Regeneron and pharmaceutical industry regulatory & compliance guidance
Champion new approaches to omnichannel engagement by actively maintaining awareness of industry trends to ensure the team remains on the forefront of omnichannel engagement

Manages the Multimedia Med Comms group
Integrates Omnichannel Med Comms across Franchises through matrix management
Works in a goal/objective oriented manner within formalized process to plan and execute annual goals in alignment with the corporate annual goals, the medical affairs overarching goals and core business strategy.
Demonstrates excellent people management skills, as well as collaborative efforts with relevant stakeholders within and outside Regeneron.
Qualifications and skills:
Advanced degree strongly preferred (Masters, PhD)
12 years of related industry experience required
Background and experience in Omnichannel communication & engagement required; experience with medical and scientific communications preferred
Experience across different therapeutic areas preferred
Experience in change management is a plus
Ability to lead business and technical discussions internally and externally and explain concepts to all levels.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong leadership and management skills.
Attention to detail in analyses, deliverables and communications.
Strong presentation and communication skills; must be able to provide succinct, strategic, and actionable insights to senior management.
