Job Description

GCC is in need of a Business Communications Analyst to support our current DoS Task Order with the IRM Bureau in Arlington, VA. Candidates without an Active Secret Clearance or above will not be reviewed or considered.


Supports the successful execution of internal and external communications

Supports identification, development, and maintenance of a wide variety of materials that promote and inform stakeholders about IRM/IA efforts, changes that have occurred, changes to come, development processes, feedback channels, and the impact to Stakeholders

Conduct research, develops and edits a wide variety of communications, such as talking papers/points, speeches, briefing materials, internal and external correspondence for official use, publications, branding strategies, and other official documentation

Support communication using SharePoint, using both the IRM/IA internal and external website

Prepares, and updates communications plans/strategy, communications reporting requirements, press kits, stakeholder kits, presentations, and fact sheets

Facilitate the creation of audio visual deliverables for use on its website and Department media channels as needed

Recommends graphic designs for IRM/IA use on its website and/or SharePoint site

Recommends designs, coordinates and collaborates on Cyber Awareness and Information Awareness events to include notifications, coordination of branding message and recording/translating notes for historical records

Provide support to satisfy ad-hoc IRM/IA leadership and stakeholders’ request that require research and analysis.

Lead efforts to document and collect various business requirements, organize, document and present

business process refinement) in order to present alternative solutions and provide recommendations for resolution or escalation, as necessary.

Research and prepare proposals for communicating improvements to current practices to meet stakeholders’ needs.

Identify and actively respond with sensitivity to the needs of all stakeholders.

Contribute and support communications efforts, including SharePoint, website and portal content management, and IRM/IA newsletter.

Work with various teams and stakeholders to schedule meetings, attend council and working group meetings, capture meeting notes, and prepare meeting summaries for IRM/IA leadership.

Support the planning, execution and follow-up of the meetings, other committees and working groups as requested by the IRM/IA leadership

Participate in planning sessions with project teams and stakeholders to develop and monitor schedule of events, including tracking milestones due dates, actively alerting IRM/IA leadership of those due dates, and work with executive administrative support ensuring that tasks get completed and delivered by such dates.

Maintain a communications library of presentation slides, talking points, white papers, and other related documents.

Prepare and/or maintain a desktop reference of duties and responsibilities

- applicants wishing to be considered must posses ALL of the following qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

6 years of professional experience

3 years of experience in business, communications, marketing, or journalism

4 years in stakeholder engagement/task management required

Experience creating a strong communication strategy/plan

Superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with individuals at all levels of an organization

Creative and innovative thinker with a strong work ethic

Recognize and be open to change with the ability to re-prioritize quickly

Expert at MS Office Suite

Knowledge and interest of technology tools, concepts, and requirements

Strong critical thinking, logical, and problem-solving skills

Experience supporting the Department of State is strongly desired.
