Fulltime:Monday- Friday, 8am – 5pm (required additional hours and out of town travel, including within and outside the service area, in-state/out-of-state, for training, meetings, and other business-related events and activities)
Educational Requirements:Associate Degree in Business, Communications or another related field.
Description of Duties:
May perform any combination of the following: (duties may include, but are not limited to):
Must possess engaging personality and be able to tactfully and courteously discuss topics associated with the cooperative system and consumer account information.
Must have exceptional grammar and punctuation skills to effectively and professionally communicate in person, by telephone, and via electronic media.
Writing Skills- Ability to effectively write speeches, manager messages, and any other documents requested by management.
Ability to communicate legislative grassroots efforts on behalf of the cooperative.
Must maintain a professional appearance within all realms for the workplace and at all times work to promote a positive company image.
Develop and maintain interactive working relationships with allied organizations, government officials and agencies, and other influential individuals and organizations to broaden the Cooperative’s public relations base.
Demonstrates an increasing knowledge and understanding of the cooperative and future opportunities.
Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
Gathers information for member and employee newsletters, social media posts, and webpage publications; helps review content before publication.
Designs flyers, bill inserts, informational pamphlets, and pertinent graphics to aid in communication efforts.
Engages in dialogue with media, business officials and other key stakeholders to represent interests of cooperative members.
Communicates with members during outage restoration efforts using social media and the cooperative website.
Builds photo and video library of co-op employees, members and directors.
Film, edits and publishes videos that highlight cooperative news, stories, and promotional campaigns.
Assists with SYEMC Members Round Up program
Coordinates events for the membership and general public, including but not limited to: Annual Meeting, Cooperative Month/Member Appreciation Day.
Coordinate Cooperative sponsored programs including but not limited to: Bright Ideas, **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Sport Camp, Youth Tour, Coop Connections, and Lineman Scholarships.
Submits vouchers to accounting and finance department to aid in timely delivery of payment of pertinent invoices.
Updates, reviews and processes rebate applications for co-op’s energy efficiency programs.
Community and civic volunteerism is highly desirable and encouraged.
Must have valid driver’s license.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time and occasionally move around the office to access other offices;
Must be able to operate a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, or printer;
Must be able to communicate/exchange information effectively, both in the office and over the phone;
Occasional moving of files and boxes up to 50 pounds.
