We are looking for an experienced integrated communications professional with expertise in financial communications, employee communications, reputation management, social responsibility, executive visibility, thought leadership, issues management and media relations. This person will join a growing corporate communications team with the ability to engage with a variety of bluebird’s stakeholders as we build and expand the function’s capabilities. This is an exciting time to join the team as we are partnering throughout the organization to support communications objectives that focus on bringing our transformative gene therapy products to patients with severe genetic diseases and cancer. About the Role: Lead and build corporate positioning and branding plans, including brand strategy and identity. Develop proactive plans that drive and support the company strategy with an eye towards building reputation management programs grounded in bluebird’s brand purpose. In partnership with investor relations, manage disclosures, including quarterly and annual reports, and corporate milestones. In partnership with HR, develop effective employee communications plans that strengthen engagement and support our thriving culture. Advise on thought leadership strategies and create valuable platforms to advance bluebird’s mission to bring transformative gene therapy products to patients globally. Serve as key media contact; build and maintain relationships with reporters. Identify, prepare and manage issues, as necessary. Draft messages, presentations, executive communications, internal communications, and other media materials, as necessary. Work collaboratively across a variety of functions, including government affairs, patient advocacy, commercial, business development, R&D, and others to support communications goals and ensure alignment with bluebird’s overall strategy.
