Media Relations SpecialistInternship/Part-time opportunityThe United States Bowling Congress will be seeking candidates with media relations and writing experience to work on-site at the 2018 USBC Open Championships, which will be held at the Oncenter Convention Center from March 24 until July 8.The opening is for an intern/part-time public relations/communications student or professional available to work a minimum of 20 hours per week as part of the in-venue staff with the possibility of additional hours as the tournament progresses.There is a four-month commitment required to work at the Open Championships to help maintain continuity over the 107 days. Because competition runs from 7 a.m. until 3 a.m. daily, hours will vary and candidates must be available in the evening.Responsibilities include fulfilling the daily public relations needs of the event, including news releases for the media and BOWL.com, pitching stories to media, answering questions about the event for staff, bowlers and media, photographing competitors, developing ideas for feature stories, creating social media content and securing video of key moments.Applicants must have computer, email, AP style, writing and basic photo/video experience.
