Manager, Advertising Capabilities','1720023','','Kelley Blue Book (KBB)','!*!Responsible for leading the Ad Capabilities team, the Manager, Advertising Capabilities role is both a thought leader and people leader, who helps shape the direction of Cox Automotive’s ad products and custom RFPs, ensuring operational supportability and alignment with business requirements.  They are involved with all aspects of the team's day-to-day operations including administrative functions, ensuring consistency in the work and support provided and leadership for the team.  They are responsible for the training and development of Ad Capabilities Specialists and educating our business partners around advertising impacts. They will partner closely with the Ad Products and Product Engineering teams.

Key responsibilities: 

Lead the day to day activities of the Ad Capabilities Team.  Embody for the team what it means to represent Ad Operations, through healthy working relationships with our business partners, and commitment to excellence in day-to-day activities

Partner with the Ad Product, Product Engineering, and Ad Operations teams to help implement successful and operationally supportable Ad Products

Work closely with the Sr. Manager, Ad Capabilities to identify and address capacity challenges for the team.

Develop team goals, creating an environment to team success

Act as a thought leader, working closely with Engineering, User Experience and Product teams, to ensure site changes consider the ongoing needs of advertising

Review all stories within Cox Automotive’s agile project management process, mitigating mid-air collisions and providing guidance to team members on potential obstacles that may surface from those efforts

Act as an escalation point of contact to define approach on complex ad executions or business process decisions, which impact our team and others within the Ad Operations structure

Actively involved throughout the ad product development lifecycle, focused on delivering high quality ad executions that are operationally supportable and meet the growing needs of our business; including, but not limited to GPT ad tagging best practice, Yieldex compliance, viewability, creative best practices and minimizing 3rd party billing discrepancies

Collaborate with counterparts within the Cox Automotive umbrella to support the needs of our collective business

Promote awareness within Cox Automotive on the role of Ad Capabilities, helping to ensure our team is included in pertinent conversations and decisions around the direction of our ad products

Vet out existing system capabilities to support ad product requirements

Work closely with Solutions team to vet new capabilities, vendor or internally developed, to fill a business need that may not be supported currently

Develop support plans for new and revised ad products, allowing for ongoing fulfillment within our Ad Operations teams

Work closely with the Ad Production and User Experience teams to ensure flawless execution on custom RFP launches

Keep up-to-date on changes in the marketplace, researching technology providers and industry trends

5 to 7 years of experience

4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Bachelors Degree in Marketing, Communications or other related field

Proven ability to develop strong, productive team

Experience with DoubleClick for Publishers (DFP) advertisement server

Fundamental understanding of publisher side advertisement tagging procedures and best practices

Comfortable working with cross-departmental teams while balancing and delivering on multiple projects and tasks

Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously, while providing proactive communication to stakeholders

Clear and concise communication, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to multiple audiences of varying technical background

Strong experience working with HTML/HTML5, JavaScript and Flash/Actionscript

Understanding of backend advertisement server framework, algorithms and advertisement tags

Excellent problem solving skills

Ability to recommend improvements in trafficking, QA and 3rd party troubleshooting processes

Knowledge of dynamic advertising functionality and use

Analytical skills and ability to identify trends in data; deciphering underlying causes

Understanding of publisher side advertisement tagging procedures and operational best practices

Experience with various 3rd party rich media advertising vendors; background in development of new product offerings with vendors, a plus

Experience with agile project management in a SCRUM environment

Moderate experience with audience segmentation and behavioral targeting campaign

Intermediate personal computer skills, including electronic mail, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
