Currently, we have an opening for an Associate Public Relations Manager, who will be responsible for the development and execution of the strategic communications plan aligned with corporate and product objectives. The candidate should have strong experience working with senior executives and a deep understanding of media relations including ability to engage proactively and reactively with local, national and industry media.

Strategy & Planning
Provide strategy, tactical planning, and delivery of relevant, consistent and timely communications to engage a wide variety of stakeholders to advance the goals and priorities of the business.
Develop and execute strategic communication plan aligned with corporate and product objectives.
Ensure consistency in branding, messaging and corporate identity across multiple internal and external platforms.
Assist in the development and execution of issues management plans and position statements.
Measure results and develop recommendations to improve the effectiveness of communications programs and tools.
Ability to assist in the development of effective positioning and messaging vehicles to help the company promote and protect its assets.
Work with outside agencies and others in development and production of outreach materials, such as news releases, fact sheets, backgrounders, printed and online reports, videos and more for internal and external audiences.
Work with internal stakeholders and outside agencies where appropriate in the coordination of media requests and support media tracking and analysis.
Plan and coordinate media events, including press conferences, interviews and corporate speaking opportunities.
Research and prepare backgrounders needed for interviews, contributed articles and Op-Eds.
Maintain media database and build relationships with local, national and industry media.
Industry & Product Awareness
Read and monitor relevant news, assist in developing and distributing news briefs, and maintain high-level awareness of industry trends.
Work with key personnel to maintain and regularly update intranet and external website content.
Work collaboratively with Product Management & Creative teams to develop effective communication tools for product launches and on-going promotion.
Experience working with senior executives.
Ability to translate complex material into comprehensible language for target audiences.
Proven achievement within a communications function: a high level of energy, commitment and enthusiasm to take on complex, challenging situations in a dynamic organization and the ability to envision, articulate and realize both process and program improvements within the department.
Ability to multi-task and shift priorities with attention to detail in fast-paced environment while working independently.
Excellent writing, communications planning, issues and project management skills.
Ability to manage a variety of assignments and complete tasks autonomously and as a team member.
Proven writing and editing skills, analytical skills, and creative experience necessary to address targeted messages to a variety of audiences with strong attention to detail.
Must be able to work flexible hours and have the ability to travel, when needed.
Four-year college degree in public relations, communications, journalism or related field.
Three to five years of relevant experience, in either an agency or in-house, preferably in the health care and/or biomedical industry.
Experience as a professional communicator with a focus on media relations and external communications.
