Job Overview: Are you passionate about corporate communications and giving and excited about helping to build and execute the national corporate giving program for a well-known consumer brand? Macy's is currently seeking a Director - Corporate Giving who will guide the company's total corporate giving campaign - at a national, regional and local level - with a shared passion for making life shine brighter for our customers, colleagues and communities. You will collaborate cross-functionally to assess, innovate and implement a corporate strategy for giving, focused on relevance, engagement and impact, and alignment to Macy's values and core business. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, is an assertive, strategic and progressive thinker, an inclusive leader with strong executive presence, with the ability to motivate and develop teams, and influence senior leaders, while building meaningful partnerships with our stores teams and non-profits. This role will report direct to the VP, Corporate Communications, Giving & Volunteerism and join a team of existing and new communications and giving talent all working together to build a strong giving and volunteerism function at Macy's. Retail experience is a plus, but not a must. Perform other duties as assigned. The location of this position has some flexibility based on major business hubs - NYC, ATL, SF, LA, and CINCINNATI. Essential Functions: • In partnership with the VP, Corporate Communications, Giving & Volunteerism, lead the development and alignment of companywide corporate giving strategy, with focus on support major markets, regions and districts. • Institutionalize an annual strategic review cycle to assess effectiveness of grants, partnerships, sponsorships and galas, and identify go-forward strategy. • Build capacity for \grant captains\ to self-lead in district grants by providing insights and developing policies, structures, and tools which can be scaled to facilitate best practice sharing. • Partner closely with cause marketing and employee giving & volunteerism teams to identify and create opportunities for closer alignment. • Manage 3 direct reports and a network of region and district grant captains. • Provide leadership, oversight and administer the Macy's, Inc. National Merit Scholarship, Earning for Learning, Matching Gifts programs and budgets. • Build relationships with corporate communications teams (internal and external), to help create the narrative to share how Macy's is supporting causes important to our local communities. • Ensure streamlined consistency of internal brand standards across all messaging and materials. • Regular, dependable attendance & punctuality. Qualifications: Education/Experience: • Bachelor's degree required. • Minimum 8 years of experience in philanthropy, CSR, community relations or public relations by providing best in class strategy. • In-house experience preferred, non-profit experience a plus • Corporate Giving Experience • Experience of managing corporate grants is a must. Communication Skills: • Strong project manager with advanced negotiation, analytics, writing and presentation skills. • Demonstrated experience managing corporate giving (grants) budget and strategy across multiple markets. • Ability to easily build relationships and credibility. Physical Demands: • Flexible approach to work with ability to toggle between projects and priorities in a high pressure environment. Other Skills: • Knowledge of federal and state legislation affecting charities and donations. • Proven analytical approach to measuring and demonstrating impact of corporate grants. • Able to serve as the \brand ambassador\ of Macy's to internal and external stakeholders. • Digital and social media savvy. • History of exercising independent judgement and ability to work with a remote team.
