Internal Communications Manager - Long-Term Temporary

Large, International Firm is seeking an Internal Communications Manager for a year-long assignment. This position will work closely with the members of the Communications Team as well as the Office of the CEO and other members of the International Management Committee. We are seeking a top-notch professional in internal communications, sensitive to confidential information, and ability to work with high level stakeholders.

This internal communications role supports how the firm engages and communicates with the firms' members so that they fully understand, and are aligned with, the firm's vision, culture, and strategy and therefore begin the process of adjusting their behavior to meet the needs of the business.

This position reports to the Global Head of Communications, with a dotted line to the Global Head of Culture and Change and the Manager, Internal Communications.

This person will be responsible for:

Developing strategies to shape our approach to people engagement and the supporting internal communications around the firm’s strategy, culture, and vision, working with the Global Head of Communications, the Global Head of Culture and Change, and other members of the firm's leadership.

Working with the other members of the internal communications team in specifying, monitoring, measuring, and adjusting the effectiveness of our internal communications, and taking action as necessary.

Acting as a role model to and positive contributor to the work of the other members of the global internal communications team (three) plus developing appropriate budgets for internal communications support at a global level.

Key responsibilities:

Finalize and implement people engagement and internal communications strategies and messages which align our people behind our vision, culture, and strategy.

Ensure that all internal communication reflects the brand and tone of voice.

Manage internal engagement and pulse surveys (working with the People function), analyze and act on results and develop appropriate communications.

Analyze the success of communications programs and take action to tweak or reinvent them to improve engagement.

Build relationships across the firm, providing insightful feedback to the management and communications team on communication issues, opportunities and ways to improve engagement on strategic priorities.

Close working relationship with other members of the internal communications team. Where people work across different aspects of communications, liaise closely with senior colleagues to ensure the management and development of team members.

Requirements:

Practical and experienced understanding at a senior level of the issues, strategies and tactics involved in effective people engagement and internal communications.

Experience in managing internal communications and people engagement in a complex international environment.

Understanding and practical experience of the use of social media to support employee engagement programs.

Content development and editing skills that are adaptable to a variety of print and electronic applications.

Hands-on ability to deliver a wide range of internal communications and engagement activities.

Ability to work confidently and effectively at senior management level.

Ability to communicate in a way that supports business priorities and builds internal engagement.

Statistically numerate.

Ability to cut through complexity to deliver a simple message that is heard, understood and motivates people throughout the organization.

Highly energetic and collegial, with an ability to foster positive relationships with colleagues at all levels and in all regions.

Creative and flexible, able to generate ideas and to facilitate the generation of ideas from others.
