Internal Communications Specialist
We re looking for our next Chief Storyteller. Someone who can take the inspiring moments of our business and people and turn it into engaging and accessible content. A valued member of the Internal Communications & Employee Engagement team, the ideal candidate will be passionate about meeting the needs of a geographically diverse population we have employees based all over the United States and in different countries around the world! They ll be willing and able to work with both creative and traditional communication channels, helping to ensure that all portions of our employee community both the wired and non-wired are reached.
Our Chief Storyteller should be comfortable working independently and on team projects, and be able to collaborate within the Internal Communications & Employee Engagement team and broader company Communications function. The candidate should have ample experience that they can draw on to support longer-term initiatives, being able to conceptualize, roadmap, and execute campaigns.
Primary responsibilities include:
Develops and manages employee engagement materials for the Platforms & Services sector, as well as those coming from **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. and BAE Systems, Inc., tailoring them as appropriate to the sector s diverse set of audiences across multiple markets.
Manages and supports internal communications channels and employee engagement platforms, such as intranet, digital signage, newsletters, social media, and our dot com.
Supports content initiatives for broader company needs, such as Thought Leadership or our LinkedIn Elevate platform.
Supports Creative Services team in its efforts to develop and refresh the business' intranet presence.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
Required education: Bachelor's Degree in communications, journalism, media or relevant discipline and four years of relevant work experience or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
Excellent writing and proofreading skills; strong verbal communication skills; experience with campaign and/or project management.
Ability to interface and work comfortably and effectively with employees at all levels of the organization from the shop floor to senior leaders.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
Ability to foster positive engagement in a diverse and widespread workforce, including a non-PC user type audience.
Demonstrated ability to write and produce content for multiple audiences/stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of AP Style.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Skills and Education
Graphic design, photo, or video editing skills are a plus. Experience with SharePoint system is a plus.
Previous internal communications experience in a large corporate environment.
Prior experience in the defense industry.
Knowledge of international business culture and cultural nuances affecting communication.
