Job Description
As a member of the Sales & Marketing department, the Communication Specialist is responsible for internal and external communication, ensuring all messaging and content are consistent, cohesive and adhere to company standards.  Other responsibilities include managing social media, public relations, online reputation, website content and additional marketing channels to support our communities, regional teams and home office leadership team.  The Communication Specialist works in tandem with the Marketing Coordinator to maximize efficiency and effectiveness, ensuring both roles’ tasks are completed according to schedules. This will require collaboration, cross-training and working closely as a team for project and task completion.

 

Job Requirements
Marketing Systems and Programs

Monitor and help manage online reputation including working with community teams on strategies to increase positive reviews from review sources
Respond timely to all online reviews
Assist in updating the website with fresh content, pictures and videos including community specific information; seek outside vendors, articles, videos to enhance our customers website experience
Develop press releases and/or work with our consultant to draft releases and distribute to appropriate media outlets as well as upload to website
Create and manage social media plan for resident engagement and prospect generation
Work with community teams to implement social media plan including oversight and posting when appropriate or necessary  
Assist in creating the Sales & Marketing Policy and Procedure Plan specific to the communication function
Continually looks for new marketing processes to help streamline workflow and create more user-friendly systems
Continually looks for additional communication initiatives and tools needed to maximize our customers experience or our ability to move them through the sales process easier

Reporting

Run and distribute key reports to gauge effectiveness of social media strategies, analyzing key data points, including number of fans, shares, views, etc.
Create and distribute tracking report for online reviews to monitor customer sentiments and overall reputation score 

Communication & Relationship Management

Field and respond to inquiries, phone & internet, for new communities
Provide high-level content writing, proofreading and editing prior to implementation
Collaborate with leadership and other key stakeholders to deliver clear and consistent marketing message and brand experience
Work closely with community executives and home office associates
Present data, marketing initiatives and new processes through written and/or oral presentations

 Database Management

Assist in creating the CRM training program and help update training curriculum as needed
Train new users (sales & ED’s) on the CRM system when Marketing Coordinator is not available
Provide on-going CRM training when Marketing Coordinator is not available

Knowledge & Skills

Excellent communication and presentation skills with an ability to work in a fast paced, high-energy environment and be a proactive communicator
High-level writing, proofreading and editing expertise
Experience working at both tactical and strategic levels

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business (communications, marketing or related field)
Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a marketing coordinator or specialist position
Independent, Assisted Living and Memory Care experience a plus
Experience working with lead management systems
Experience managing marketing programs
