JOB MISSION

The Email and Direct Mail Marketing Associate will be responsible for supporting the planning, development and execution of promotional and triggered email and direct mail campaigns that build, and maintain, relationships with our subscribers with the ultimate goal of maximizing sales, lifetime value and customer engagement with our brand.

They will be responsible for customer retention, list segmentation, subscription growth, list hygiene and general data analysis to drive optimizations. They will work cross-functionally with other global/regional marketing teams, merchandising, creative, analytics, and engineering to ensure we are serving the right message at the right time to our customers, resulting in successfully executed integrated marketing efforts. Strong analytical, organizational and project management skills, coupled with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment, are imperative.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

* Evaluate current email and direct mail marketing programs and practices for relevancy, defining efficiencies and implementing strategies to correct shortcomings; with that, execute strategic A/B tests at manager s direction, analyze results, identify trends and recommend improvements/learnings to future campaigns; finally, partner with cross-functional teams to drive necessary implementation

* Be an expert on our marketing calendar, NB key product stories, and competitive marketing strategies; use this expertise to identify and propose creative campaign ideas or optimizations to existing campaigns

* Be an expert on our customers, always advocating their POV across both channels

* Be accountable for project-managing appropriate end-to-end email and direct mail development processes, partnering with key internal and external stakeholders as needed.

* Across email: write creative briefs for proposed email marketing campaigns, which requires close coordination with numerous internal teams; edit html templates and create ad hoc emails and forms as necessary; assess campaign s performance, recommending optimizations to deliver best-in-class email practices.

* Across direct mail: via circulation planning support, identify opportunities to engage new customers within new formats; be responsible for project managing direct mail pieces through each stage of execution; report trends and performance to internal and external teams; monitor and report on budget.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS

* Bachelor s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications or related field

* 3-5 years experience working with email or direct mail marketing programs preferably in an e-commerce environment

* Experience working with ESPs (ideally, the Responsys tool) and with database segmentation targeting through campaign management tools

* Strong understanding of HTML coding and conversion of artwork to HTML, SQL and test-and-learn practices

* Analytically savvy and comfortable drawing conclusions from data in Excel; should have experience making data-driven decisions based on imperfect information

* Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

* Exceptional time management and project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines; ability to perpetually prioritize competing interests to focus on highest-impact activities

* Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build/establish rapport with a diverse array of people as they ll be working cross-functionally

* Creative thinker with excellent troubleshooting skills

* Proactive, self-motivated
