Facility Profile: Located on a lush tropical campus, our flagship hospital, 1,107-bed Florida Hospital Orlando, serves as the major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America. Florida Hospital Orlando houses one of the largest Emergency Departments and largest cardiac catheterization labs in the country. We are already one of the busiest hospitals in the nation, providing service excellence to more than 32,000 inpatients and 125,000 outpatients each year. Work Hours/Shifts: 8a – 5pm Job Summary: The Manager is a critical member of the Community Partnerships team and defines and executes the company’s community outreach. Is responsible for initiating and maintaining relationships with strategic businesses and corporations in the Greater Orlando area. Secures participating support for joint community projects. Develops and executes community programs/ initiatives. Is responsible for directing annual drives of which Florida Hospital is the major sponsor. Secures and executes internal fundraising incentives across all campuses and directs company’s presence and activities at the annual event. Is actively involved on community boards and highly visible at community events. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all. Knowledge, Skills, Education, & Experience Required: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with individuals and business. Well-connected in the community. Ability to express ideas clearly, logically and in an organized fashion. Well-organized and detail-oriented, able to work independently and prioritize. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Strong writing, organization and interpersonal communications skills Work knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Lotus Notes, and Powerpoint. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Required: Bachelor’s degree in media-related discipline, e.g. English, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Foreign Languages Studies, OR Equivalent documented professional experience in community-focused work environment Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations highly preferred 5-10 years of experience working with the community and key leaders (Preferred) Job Responsibilities: Demonstrates through behavior Florida Hospital’s Core Values of Integrity, Compassion, Balance, Excellence, Stewardship and Teamwork Actively seeks, organizes, directs, and executes efforts to represent Florida Hospital favorably in the community. Promotes Florida Hospital by working with members of the public and specific community groups on projects that enhance the objectives and image of the hospital. Cultivates and fosters relationships with strategic community leaders and organizations. Works proactively and independently showing initiative and problem solving skills, and seeks advice when appropriate. Cultivates and directs community outreach to support specific Florida Hospital projects and initiatives Helps create and articulate Florida Hospital’s position on issues in the community. Recruits strategic business to the Healthy 100 initiative, and manages pilot programs with various organizations. Develops and implements communication tools and disseminates information to the public or key interest groups and organizations about Florida Hospital’s strategic initiatives. Directs annual drives (events, campaigns, initiatives) with various organizations of which Florida Hospital is the major sponsor. Secures and executes internal fundraising incentives across all campuses and directs FH’s presence and activities at these evenings Develops, plans, and helps to set goals for Community Partnerships team. Promotes Florida Hospital executives and doctors by creating and executing speaking opportunities, partnerships, and appearances. Florida Hospital Waterman was founded in 1938 as a legacy of Frank Waterman, president of the Waterman Fountain Pen Company. In 1938, Mr. Waterman turned the elegant Fountain Inn in downtown Eustis over to a group of local doctors for use as a hospital, and the new Lake County Medical Center was to become the major cornerstone of health care in Lake County. For over 65 years, Florida Hospital Waterman has continued its commitment to the health care needs of our community, and has progressed from an 18-bed county hospital to a 269-bed acute care facility. In 1992 Florida Hospital Waterman merged with the Adventist Healthcare System and became part of a worldwide network that has given Lake County residents access to state-of-the-art technology and programs within the Florida Hospital System.
