As a professional administrator of the Jacobs School of Music Office of Communications, the communications digital manager (CDM) is responsible for managing content development and content marketing working closely with members of the communications team.
Major areas of responsibility include directing, organizing, prioritizing and managing the methods, timelines, progress, and results for all digital communications and marketing projects and campaigns for a diverse and rich clientele. This involves email marketing, list management, social media management, and digital content production, including analytics development and reporting based on social media platforms, email campaign performance, and the management of digital ad placement and SEO effectiveness. The CDM will use knowledge gained to identify trends by researching, creating and tracking practices that apply innovative actions to our digital programs.
The CDM also plays a role in digital portions of communications, public relations, promotions, and marketing campaign materials for the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Opera and Ballet productions, Musical Arts Center events, student admissions and recruitment, JSoM academic departments and centers, precollege and summer programs, faculty and student joint events and projects, and guest artists and dignitaries' visits.
The CDM is responsible for the successful and cohesive execution of a multitude of interconnected digital solutions -both inward and outward facing, to promote the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Jacobs School of Music brand and tell its story.
Other duties include planning for future campaigns to optimize the presence and impact of web, print, social media, and other channels of communication and promotion. Creates internal metrics methodology, uses outside analytics services, such as Google Analytics, and partners with IU Communications to maximize efforts.
Proactively develops and cultivates strategic partnerships and relationships within the community with the goal of expanding the reach of the **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Jacobs School of Music and is responsible for developing, implementing strategies, and working with the communications team to maximize the IU JSoM brand, student recruitment, and ticket sales and audience attendance to Jacobs School performances, particularly IU Opera and Ballet Theater.
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, the arts or arts administration, project management, public relations, development, or related field and three years of experience and demonstrated success in communications, project management, arts administration, marketing, and/or public relations roles.
Ability to take initiative; work independently and/or within a team. Superior project management, time management, and problem solving skills. Understanding of digital platforms, data analytics, social media campaigns, communications, marketing, and branding. Creative, analytical, detail-oriented and comfortable developing and/or working with project plans/timelines with the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong writing and editing skills and organizational skills. Experience with all forms of social media and data analytics. Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in digital media/social media.
Preferred Qualifications Degree in Music or strong musical background.
