The Social Media Marketing Manager will drive the development, planning, and budgeting of an innovative and effective social media and digital media strategy that focuses on analytics and company direction. Working closely with the Global Creative senior management, this position will build Forever 21’s brand voice across social channels by creating marketing content and defining strategy for the Social Media Marketing team.
Receive creative direction from the Digital Creative Director regarding building Forever 21’s brand and voice across social channels; ensure marketing campaigns reflect the desired creative vision and adhere to expectations and standards that represent the company’s brand quality
Collaborate with Global Creative and Marketing senior management to conceptualize projects and plan and execute content strategy; communicate project expectations and timelines to the Social Media Marketing team
and ensure projects are completed in a smooth and timely manner
Monitor the project calendar, along with the planning and scheduling of individual projects and adjust the master action calendar for all marketing content as needed
Review marketing content created that leverages digital social contexts to optimize real time trends (video briefs, articles, blog posts, posts from influencers and affiliated partners, etc.)
Implement, execute, and report on an integrated strategy to grow the company’s social media audience, social engagement, and web traffic
Report social media analytics to Global Creative, E-Commerce, and Marketing departments to inform decision making and determine best practices
Analyze the long-term needs of the company’s social media strategy and present monthly reports to senior management that outline any necessary changes to the marketing strategy
Stay ahead of social trends, implementing tests and trial programs to expand the company’s presence on new platforms as they gain traction
Mentor junior Social Media Marketing team members to drive career growth and professional development; coach staff on content creation best practices
Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field of study
Must have at least 7 years of experience in social media marketing; fashion experience preferred; at least 3 years of lead or supervisory experience required
Experience with and strong understanding of social media channels (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, Pinterest, blogs, etc.)
Must have knowledge of social planing tools, like Curalate
Prior experience with online monitoring and measuring platforms
Experience programming a broad swath of content across social media platforms – scheduling, optimizing, testing, and repackaging
Demonstrated strategic, analytical, and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build solid business relationships both internally and externally
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to lead effective teams
