Job Description
Digital Marketing Strategist The Digital Marketing & Web Analysis team is looking for a Digital Marketing Strategist. As a member of the DMWA team (Digital Marketing & Web Analysis), you are naturally curious and passionate about the digital space. You are driven to solve problems and explore opportunities. You approach problems from a creative perspective searching for ways to better the experience for our customers. As a Digital Marketing Strategist, you are responsible for your assigned programs' success online. You will work closely with U-Haul's business units to provide a better customer experience on U-Haul owned websites, through email and other channels of marketing. This position will work alongside other digital marketing specialists, analysts and strategists to develop and implement marketing projects that resonate with U-Haul customers. This role will provide you with an opportunity to make your voice heard through regular meetings with program managers and top executives. This is an excellent opportunity within a dynamic department for someone who thrives in a high-energy environment. Responsibilities include: Set digital marketing strategies using all necessary channelsDevelop, test and implement email campaignsAnalyze email campaign data and provide reports based on analysisHelp shape and influence our communication platform's email marketing capabilitiesResearch U-Haul and competitor products, services and current strategies to identify new opportunitiesCreate on-page content for and other owned websitesAnalyze and report on success metricsLaunch new email marketing efforts, including automated and seasonal campaignsManage marketing/ecommerce funnels to improve conversion ratesMonitor SEO/SEM, marketing and sales performance metrics to forecast trendsKeep up-to-date with our audience's preferences and proactively suggest new campaignsLiaise with other U-Haul teams to optimize customer experience and ensure brand consistencyEstablish best practices in digital marketing and stay up-to-date with digital technologies developments Qualities of an ideal candidate: Outstanding analytical capabilities, strategic thinking and creativityAbility to take complex marketing concepts and effectively communicate concepts to all levels of the organizationA mix of creative and analytical thought processesResourceful problem-solver with ability to excel in an ambiguous environmentAbility to work well in groups and individuallyPassionate about continual learning and applying what you've learnedStrong verbal and written communication skillsMust be detail-orientedBasic understanding of the marketing funnel and the different phases of the customer journeyStrategic thinkerAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;Strong communicator with the ability to develop relationships internally and externallyA passion for marketing and storytelling.Excellent project management skillsExcellent organization and multi-tasking skills with the ability to take initiative on projects Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Communications, English or comparable relevant experienceMinimum 3 years experience with email campaign managementMinimum 3 years experience managing a websiteMust be able to show examples of past work including but not limited to optimized web content, owned websites, email content, pitch decks, marketing proposalsBasic HTML knowledgeExperience in Marketing and/or Content Writing for the WebSEO knowledge preferred but not requiredMicrosoft office proficiency (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)Ability to write in Spanish and/or French is preferred but not required Work Status: Full-Time Benefits: Competitive salaryHealth insurance/benefits (including medical, dental & vision)Subsidized gym membership (including paid fitness classes)Life insuranceStock optionsBusiness and travel insuranceMetLaw Legal programMetLife auto and home insuranceDiscounts on Apple products, cell phone plans, hotels and moreCommuter benefits program401k optionsPaid holidays, vacation and sick daysIn-house cafe featuring options for all diets24-hour physician available for kidsCommunity volunteer opportunitiesOpportunity to travel for digital marketing conferences

After World War II, there existed the widespread need for do-it-yourself moving equipment that would be available on a one-way, nationwide basis. U-Haul co-founders L.S. "Sam" Shoen and his wife, Anna Mary Carty Shoen, recognized that need and acted upon it. Their visionary approach spread the cost of ownership among many users, facilitating the mobility of the populations of the U.S. and Canada. The covered wagon of the pioneers morphed into orange U-Haul trailers. In the process, an industry was born.
