Title: Global Director of Marketing Communications

Reporting to: Chief Communications Officer
The Global Director of Marketing Communications will partner with agency leadership to activate McCann Worldgroups global marketing and communications strategy, with the aim of enhancing the agency’s overall image with current and potential clients. The scope of this role will focus on external brand marketing to drive awareness in the industry and will include activation of the agency’s thought leadership, specialized products and services, event programs, sponsorships, and speaking engagements.
The McCann Communications team is made up of 25 Communications experts who guide our reputation across the global network and industry. We work tirelessly to ensure the McCann Worldgroup brands are thriving in the marketplace while also being key to the overall success of our creative work.
Develop opportunities to support the company’s mission
Partner with senior management across the network and communicate management objectives and strategies to bring new thinking and ideas forward
Identify (and create) opportunities for senior leadership to raise their profile at key events and through influential media channels through thought leadership activities designed to position them and McCann as industry experts
Identify traditional and unique opportunities for the agency to tell its story
Partner directly with senior leaders to market the agency at large and help to continue building the McCann Global brand
Develop comprehensive integrated marketing plans to increase awareness, accelerate growth and evangelize service offerings in support of client business
Create and direct events directed at raising awareness and favorability among stakeholders including media, prospects and clients and support global network events in the region including awards shows and trade shows.
Work with clients to align with their objectives and sync opportunities to participate alongside the agency at industry and internal events
Understand the long-term market potential and opportunities that exist for the network in the industry as it relates to events, sponsorships, speaking engagements and special editorial placements
Strategize, develop and implement global and regional event programs, sponsorships, speaking engagements and related editorial opportunities to support growth plans
Help create and manage media profile and Worldgroup narrative raising awareness among the broader business channels
Prepare executives for media interactions, and public appearances
Secure strategic partnerships to support marketing initiatives and deliver added value to support McCann’s strategic goals
Build and maintain strong network of relevant industry relationships
Develop proactive plans around our agency reputation
Who you will be…
10 years of PR experience leading internal, external and strategic PR initiatives either in-house or in an agency
Demonstrated experience solving complex PR and Marketing challenges for both an agency/brand and/or a client
Proven ability to interact with senior-level executives and press; strong interpersonal skills
Someone who has worked in an extremely fast-paced environment with changing priorities and a variety of stakeholders
Fully integrated experience across traditional, social, digital, experiential, etc.
Media handling experience (not necessarily in Marcomms field)
Events management experience
