DescriptionGulliver's Advancement department is presently looking for a Communications & Social Media Coordinator with a proven record of success in building a social media community plan for an organization, brand or event. This individual will oversee and execute day-to-day social media responsibilities, including creating and posting content, monitoring and responding to comments and interactions, and creating and implementing social media campaigns. Develops current and potential social media properties, spearheads new initiatives, and participates in campus-wide social media efforts. Shoots, edits and delivers image and video assets and overall digital content. The Communications & Social Media Coordinator is also responsible for representing the communications and public relations department at all Gulliver campuses. This position plays a significant role in the development and implementation of communications strategies and managing a full spectrum of communications processes specific to all Gulliver campus administration, faculty/staff and parents' association to meet internal and external communications objectives. The Communications & Social Media Coordinator works closely with the Communications Specialists and the Public Relations & Brand Manager in matters regarding the school’s website, monitoring external blogs and websites, and when necessary, special events. Educational background in communications, marketing, journalism or related field preferred.Essential/Primary DutiesOversees all social media channels. Sets goals and objectives for social media profiles, establishes effective benchmarks for measuring impact of social media programs, and creates a content strategy and schedule.Engages with audiences on social media platforms (e.g., responding to comments, answering questions).Measures impact of social media on overall marketing efforts. Evaluates results and recommends changes to strategies.Identifies opportunities and strategies for new social media profiles and initiatives.Trains faculty and staff on best practices in social media.Stays up to date on the latest social media trends and state-of-the-art technology, such as new algorithms, features and platforms.Serves as a central resource and first point of contact for administrators, department, faculty/staff and parents regarding the collection and dissemination of information including facts, opinions and interpretations to keep stakeholders informed and ensure consistent messaging.Evaluates and recommends newsworthy activities and events.Identifies stories and post with photos or videos on Gulliver’s external website and social media platforms.Works with administrators and departments to obtain updated information, photos, videos, content, etc. to update the external website in a timely manner.Shoots and edits videos.Maintains frequent contact with staff and student leaders of Gulliver Schools. Maintains flexibility and sensitivity to establish and maintain necessary rapport with all levels of personnel and external constituencies to include students, parents and faculty.Identifies, forms and maintains relationships with social media \influencers\ within the Gulliver community.Creates and coordinates social media campaigns and buys to boost reach of posts and campaignsCreates written, visual and multimedia content targeted toward specific social media platforms and audiences (e.g., photos and statuses and videos for social media).Requires strong writing and storytelling skills, as well an understanding of proper grammar.Requires the basic skills of graphic design, in order to create corresponding social media graphics.Requires video production and multimedia skills to generate social media contentSupports with photography at events, when necessary.Assists with tasks including distributing eblasts, communicating relevant happenings on campus to the team, etc. Performs other related duties as required or as directed.
