Black Box is seeking an experienced Avaya Aura/CM Engineer to work in the Black Box Oak Ridge, TN location.
Duties:
The Avaya Aura/CM Engineer reports directly to the Project Manager and is responsible for the advanced programming and maintenance of switching, data communications, and peripheral equipment associated with the Avaya Aura Communication Manager (CM7) Product line. This includes but is not limited to: database provisioning, application provisioning, routing provisioning and alarm clearing. The Engineer is also responsible for the engineering, design and implementation of complex unified communication solutions and upgrades at various facilities throughout the Oak Ridge Reservation. Familiarity with Main Communication Facilities, Data Switches and Routers, and related Power and HVAC requirements is also a requirement. The Engineer is expected to perform his/her duties with minimum supervision, and participate in cross-functional projects as scheduled. Additionally, the Avaya Aura Engineer is responsible for the development of system and infrastructure related documentation, including Configuration Management related documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). Candidates must meet criteria to pass a background check and obtain a DoE Security Clearance.
Specific Duties:
Programming, troubleshooting, upgrading, and administering multiple vendor systems and any ancillary systems
Maintain systems and their applications, to include any ancillary systems
Coordinating, installing, testing, and troubleshooting of transmission facilities (OC48, T3, T1 PRI, SIP and DS0).
Ensuring quality customer service
Providing support to a varied user community
Updating daily logs with site specific information
Composing clear and concise reports for customer documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, etc...
Resolving complex system incidents, upgrades, maintenance tasks, modifying Contact Center scripts, build voice application menu services and complex call arrangements on the systems listed:

Coordinating with site specific Technical Points of Contact (POC), Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) engineering and sales representatives and Black Box Engineering and Project Management resources to facilitate the engineering, design and implementation of complex unified communications solutions.
Required Qualifications:
Capable of working effectively with co-workers and fulfill customer requests.
Strong computer skills with emphasis on applications are required.
Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Ability to work extremely flexible hours and support on-call duties and shift work may be required.
Additional work hours beyond normal duty hours may be necessary, at times, to complete the weekly workload based upon the discretion of the supervisor.
On-call availability during off-hours in the event of service problems with the system.
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate and present complex technical information to a varied audience, including technical and non-technical customer representatives.
Effective time management to allow for involvement in special task order projects as assigned by the supervisor.
Fostering of excellent relations with the Customer and the Team on behalf of Black Box.
Follow established guidelines set forth by the Customer, Black Box, and the supervisor for conduct and work performance.
Isolate system problems and malfunctions; take timely corrective action to meet conditions of Black Box contract.
Must be a US citizen.
Ability to work flexible/extended hours and possibly holidays is required.
A valid driver’s license is required.
The ability to pass a background check and obtain a Department of Energy security clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associates degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Computer Science, Systems or Business discipline. 5 years or greater direct relevant technical experience may be substituted for education.
Minimum 5-8 years experience in programming and maintenance of the Avaya CM and subtending systems.
Strong knowledge of Linux.
Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint and word processing.
Working knowledge of IP Subnetting, QoS and IPV4/IPV6 model.
Working knowledge of routers and switches.
Working knowledge of Avaya Aura Conferencing, Avaya Aura Messaging, Avaya Aura Contact Center Avaya Session Manager, Avaya System Manager and Avaya OneX.
Candidate must possess or have the knowledge to pass the ACIS- Avaya Aura® Communication Manager and CM (R6.x) Messaging certification.
Candidate must possess or have the knowledge to pass the ACIS- Avaya Session Manager and System Manager certification.
Experience with Department of Energy policies, processes and
Current DoE Security Clearance
Current ACIS and/or ACSS certification in the Avaya Communication Manager product line.
Ability to concisely and effectively communicate and present complex technical information to a varied audience, including technical and non-technical customer representatives.
Familiarity with Avaya Engineering and Provisioning tools, including Avaya Solution Designer (ASD) and Global Registration Tool (GRT)
Candidate must possess or have the knowledge to pass the ACIS- Avaya Aura® Communication Manager and CM (R6.x) Messaging certification.
Candidate must possess or have the knowledge to pass the ACIS- Avaya Session Manager and System Manager certification.
