Responsibilities

CORPORATE COMMUNICATIONS INTERN DESCRIPTION

Corporate Communications develops all corporate messaging, branding and maintains community relationships throughout the state. Corporate Communications internships are in the following areas and will be based on individual interest and fit:

Internal Communications

Write feature articles and cover events for the company's internal communication channels, including a daily online publication circulated to 7,000 employees. This may include interviewing internal and external clients, and multi-media production such as event photography and/or video.

External Communications

Develop and refine messaging around strategic issues (e.g. new power plant, regulatory decision, etc.); this may include drafting columns, news articles, website content and other editorial pieces for placement in external media and other projects as needed. Plan and execute media campaigns, including developing the strategies, writing the press releases and following up with media outlets.

Creative Services

Provide strategic creative solutions and develop collateral that supports the communications initiatives of APS. Emphasis on promotional video production and motion graphics, and may also include graphic design, photography and other creative mediums. Will manage and organize video assets, pre-production to post-production, coordinate and conduct interviews, produce testimonials, b-roll and other communications pieces.

Community Affairs

Assist in managing, organizing and representing APS at public functions related to Corporate and Community event activities and meetings. Communicate important business initiatives and develop strategic messaging/tactics to help position APS as a community leader.

GENERAL INTERN SUMMARY:

Acquires broad experience in practicing and learning business, engineering, information systems fundamentals in real work settings. Intern assignment is for a short, temporary period of time.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Actively enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate degree program. Must show ongoing achievement in areas of study and training.

Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. This is a condition of employment at PVNGS. Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1) Performs simple to intermediate analysis and designs. May assist in preparing business/engineering plans, designs, specifications, cost estimates, evaluations and studies.

2) Assists in research, business documentation, studies or technical reviews. Conducts analyses, investigations, verifications and summarizes results or findings in written reports or oral presentations.

3) Utilizes internal resources to learn business/engineering operations/functions and apply learning in completion of work assignments.

4) Coordinates efforts with other disciplines, and/or departments in achieving project goals and task assignments.

5) Performs other related duties as required.
