Partners in Health (PIH) is seeking a visionary and strategic

Chief Communications Officer to play a pivotal role in shaping and

sharing the story of the organization's work. In this role, you

will serve as the senior marketing strategist and leader

responsible for communicating and building awareness of PIH.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a key member of the

executive team, you will provide marketing thought leadership to

the organization, and lead the communications efforts to educate

and inspire people about PIH's work around the world. You will also

oversee internal communications to help promote collaboration and

knowledge-sharing across PIH's offices in 10 countries. You will

work in close partnership with the Chief Development Officer,

ensuring collaboration and alignment between teams and objectives,

with the goal of increasing fundraising revenue. You will model and

build collaborative relationships across the organization, and you

will share PIH's mission, vision, and story with a wide range of

audiences, from major donors to community giving supporters to


An engaged manager, you will educate, motivate and lead a

dynamic, creative team in applying best practices, with a

particular focus on brand strategy, marketing, digital

communications, and data-driven approaches. You will ensure a

robust and highly functioning department that serves the needs of

the organization today and into the future.


Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Create and implement an innovative and compelling integrated

marketing, communications, and branding strategy consistent with

PIH's culture, strengths and long-range, strategic goals that will

enhance visibility and increase awareness, relevance, and


Oversee media relations and effectively leverage earned media;

develop proactive and reactive strategies for print, broadcast, and

social media

Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer and Development

team to provide strategies and materials for fundraising

initiatives, ensuring consistency and coordination of efforts, and

resulting in increased and diversified revenue streams

Lead and develop a talented marketing and communications staff;

create annual department management plan for marketing,

communication, and engagement activities with objectives, goals,

strategies, tactics, measurements, and outcomes

PIH was founded in 1987, two years after the Clinique Bon Sauveur was set up in Cange, Haiti, to deliver health care to the residents of the mountainous Central Plateau. PIH co-founders had been working in the area for years. The Clinic was just the first of an arc of successful projects designed to address the health care needs of the residents of the poorest area in Haiti. In the 20 years since then, PIH has expanded its operations to eight other sites in Haiti and five additional countries and has launched a number of other initiatives.
